SS11STGG0

SS11STGB0

SS11STGB0(03030194) and SS11STGG0(03030591) realize all the functions

of clock. Their CPU is 8031, and the I/O interface chip of the external clock is
14575. As SS11STGB0 uses Chinese made crystal, its performance is
relatively poor, therefore it needs to change British made crystal
( SS11STGG0) with better performance before using. To connect the output
external clock of SS11STG to BITS or a switch, the FPGA version must be
V:300, and a 2M signal frame header is required.

SS12STG

SS12STGG0

On the basis of SS11STG functions, SS12STGG0(03030476) has used 2154

external clock interface which is capable of processing S1 bytes. But this
board is already stopped manufacturing, so no longer available and no
maintenance is provided. The board software is early immature versions, so
not allowed to use in the market. All the boards in R&D, manufacturing center,
spare parts center, and in the market are reclaimed.

SS13STG

SS13STGB0

SS13STGB0(03031139) facilitate with all functions of 11STG, furthermore its

CPU is 80386EX with online loading capability. External clock I/O interface
chip is 2154 with S1 byte processing capability. It can input and output 2MHZ
external clock signals, and output external clock can be synchronous with line
clock signal.

SS14STG
2005-03-02

SS14STG01

SS14STG02

SS14STG02(03032977) has solved the problem of having alarms in optical

path when active/standby switching occurs in SS13STG. It has increased

active/standby switching conditions, including power supply check, CPU
check, 38M crystal oscillator check and FPGA check. Its external clock I/O
mode is set by software, without setting with jumpers. In order to lower the
price, SS14STG01 (03032779) board has removed DSP chip on its pinch
board SS14STG02, and this function has moved to the CPU on main board.
SS14STG01 (03032779) is compatible with SS14STG02, and SS14STG02 is
no longer manufactured.

Warning

1. Do not use an SS11STG board, if

a. S1 byte information needs to be output to the external clock source;
b. S1 byte information needs to be retrieved from the external clock source
for SSM function;
c. 2MHz clock is required when connecting to the external clock source;
d. 2MHz clock needs to be output externally;
e. More than two external clock source outputs are required.
2. SS13/14STG can completely replace SS11STG.

Note:

1. Neither 11STGB0 nor 12STG, delivered in a small quantity, is covered in the

table above. Please replace the 11STGB0 by the 11STGG0 with British made
crystal or by any other capable board, and 12STG should be replaced by 13STG
or 14STG.
2. An 11STG cannot be used together with a 13STG or a 14STG as
active/standby boards, but only with an 11STG.
3. A 13STG and a 14STG can be used together as active/standby boards.
However, the clock modes should be the same. If clock modes are not the same,
reset the standby clock board after confirming it is not faulty.

1.1.3

How to Add and Configure Standby Clock Board

1. Step one: Use the command line to create a clock board.

OptiX Cross-Connect and Clock Active/Standby Boards Configuration

Confidentiality Level:
Internal Use Only

:cfg-create-board:16,stg; //(Create a clock board at slot 16.)

2. Step two: Create the active/standby relationship of the clock boards.
1) Starting from 1.48 board version of 4.01.15, SS13STG host version. it
supports active/standby clock boards configuration.
The command line is:
:cfg-set-stgbackup:bid,bdtpye,0/1; (0 represents active, and 1 is standby.)
E.g. :cfg-set-stgbackup:16,stg,0;
If the clock active/standby configuration is not set or supported, the
hardware will automatically set the first inserted STG board as the active,
and the second as the standby. Once one of two STG boards is pulled out or
faulty, the active/standby relationship will switch without recovery.
Caution:

If no active/standby relationship is configured, the active/standby relationship at

the board side is determined as stated above. However, the default parameters at
the SCC board are always active board. Therefore, in the 4.01.15host version,
configure the active/standby relationship in the command line or in NMS. After
uploading the data, query the active/standby state once in the NMS. Otherwise,
the NMS will display it incorrectly.
2) The configuration command is delivered, it is saved in the system control
but not delivered to the board (Use the command PTP 84 to query). The
configuration will be delivered to the board only after the verification,.

How to Add Standby Cross-Connect Board

1. For 4.01.16.12 and 4.01.16.22 or above host versions, the host will
automatically install the standby cross-connect board after the cross-connect
board is on line. (Recommended)
2. Configure with the command line: fully deliver the command line file with
the cross-connect board being configured. (Recommended)
3. Configure with the NMS: Reconfigure all the NE data. First delete all the
services and the logic systems. Then create a new logic systems and map
the cross-connect board to the logic systems. (Since the services are
interrupted for a long time, this method is not recommended)

1. SS62XCS, SS63XCS and SS64XCS boards can be used each other as

active/standby boards. For any active/standby combination except SS64XCS
boards, both board software versions should be 3.13 or above, and better be
consistent. The host version should be 4.5.3.10 (December 3) or above. Lower
host versions do not support HARD_FATAL_ERROR alarm.
2. SS61XCS cannot be used in active/standby relationship with any other
version of XCS. When SS61XCS is maintained by SS62/63/64XCS, both active
and standby XCS boards needs to be replaced.
3. SS63XCS.1 REV.B must work together with the board software version 3.40
or above, and FPGA logic version 430 or above.
4. The board software and FPGA of SS64XCS are incompatible with other XCS
board types. Therefore, when upgrading or degrading the software, clarify the
hardware version of the board.
5. If there are 64XCS boards in the subrack, it is recommended that both
active and standby XCS boards are of the same type.

1.3.2

How to Add Standby Cross-Connect Board

2500+ device supports auto installation of the cross-connect board starting
from 4.5.3.12 host version. After a standby cross-connect board is inserted
in the sub rack, the host will install the board automatically. The board will
work after getting the configuration data.
If the NMS is T2000 and auto installation function is disabled, add the crossconnect board in the corresponding slot, or upload the data. Then you can
see this board in the slot.

If the NMS is NES, it will report Board already installed error when
installing the standby cross-connect board in the corresponding slot. Upload
the data to view the board in the corresponding slot. In this case, create the
board in the NMS first, and then insert the cross-connect board.

1.3.3

How to Query PCB Versions of XCS Boards

To SS61/62/63XCS boards, use the command :ptp:BID,10 to query PCB
versions from the returned HVER value.

Note
For example, the return value is:cmd 0: 08 10 a5 03 28 7f 03 08 19 11 05.

Explanation: BOARDTYPE+RVER+DVER+HVER+production date (5 bytes).

The corresponding relationship between HVER and hardware PCB is shown in
the table above. In the example, HVER is 7f (01111111). The last 111
indicates the hardware version of the cross-connect board is SS63XCS Ver.B.
1 To query PCB version of SS64XCS, use the NMS, command line or the
PTP10 command to query the board software version number. If version is
6**, that is SS64XCS.
