What is iGive?

FAQs

iGive is Monash Healths workplace giving program. iGive

members can either make a single donation, donate each
pay period, or donate-a-day from their excess annual leave.
Joining is simple, and donations are made pre-tax so you
receive the tax benefit immediately. You dont need to keep
receipts or wait to claim your donation in your annual tax
return.

Workplace giving is when an employer manages

donations from employees to a charity. It is low-cost,
administratively efficient for the charity and is simple for
the donor..

How does it work?

Do I need to keep receipts and claim the workplace

giving at tax time?
No, thats the best thing. You have already received
the benefit of your tax claim at the time of making the
donation.

You can choose to donate to

a hospital or an Endowment
Fund within Monash Health.
Donations are collected by
payroll and managed by the
Monash Health Foundation.
Sites can choose to purchase
new equipment, fund research
or innovative programs, patient
care, whatever is deemed the
most urgent priority.

Where does my donation go?

YOUR

NAME

YOUR TITLE

Every dollar of your donation will go directly towards

supporting your elected area of Monash Health, either
Hospitals or Endowment funds.
Do I need to donate a minimum or maximum
amount through the iGive workplace giving
program?
We do ask a minimum of $5 if donating each pay period.
All donations received over $2 or more are tax deductible.
The power of workplace giving is a lot of people giving
collectively. Every little bit helps.

An iGive example . . .
Because your donation is made pre-tax you wont notice
the full amount donated*, in your take home pay. For
example, if you donate $10 at you normal top marginal rate
of 37% tax, you will only notice about a $6 difference in
your take home pay. Therefore it is effectively costing you
less to give more. And its simple.

iGive enables you to boost your charitable giving by up to
