The digital space will improve time efficiency by eliminating the delivery
on physical annual reports, broker reports and annual financial statements
etc. This will also create some shelve space on the floor , about 60 % of
the shelves at the BIC are filled with annual reports, AFS, prelisting
statements and circulars . The doing away of paper and introducing to
store the reports can be utilised for other uses. The digital space can also
enable more efficiency due to information immediately available online as
compared to before.
One of the main service rendered by the BIC is the newspaper
subscription for the various employees mainly managers with Investcore
Investment management, including Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.
More value is added in the daily and weekly morning mail delivery to the
employees desks at Cape Town offices.
Although the BIC serves the BIG Investment core clusters such as the
credit team and the equities teams, not everyone within those teams
make use of the facility and its services.
The resources available need to be expanded, to create the warm space
that a company library requires. To get a perfect fit between the service
offering, and the supplier and the client there should be cohesion amongst
the three stakeholders.
