Danger
Disassemble and reconstruction
Do not disassemble or reconstruct battery
The battery has safety functions and a protective circuit/safety circuit to avoid danger. If
those have a serious damage it will cause heat, smoke, rupture or flames.
Short-circuit
Do not short-circuit battery
Do not connect the (+) and (-) terminals with metals (such as wire). Do not carry or store
the battery with metallic objects (such as wire, necklaces or hairpins). If the battery is
short-circuited, excessive current will flow and this will generate heat, smoke, rupture or
flames.
And it also generates heat at metals.
15
16
Soldering
Do never solder nearby the battery
If the insulator is melted by heat or the gas valve (or safety function) is broken, it
causes heat, smoke, rupture or flames.
Connection of battery to the plug
Do not connect battery to the plug socket or car cigar jack
By adding high voltage to the battery excessive current will flow in it and then it will
cause heat, smoke, rupture or flames.
Inappropriate use for other equipment
Do not use battery for other equipment
If the battery is used for unspecified equipment it will deteriorate its performance and
lifetime. In the worst case abnormal current will flow and this might lead to heat, smoke,
rupture or flames.
Leakage
Do not touch a leaked battery directly
In the case that the leaked electrolyte gets into the eyes wash them with fresh water as
soon as possible without rubbing the eyes.
And then see a doctor immediately to avoid eye-troubles.
Ingestion
Keep the battery away from babies and children
Keep/store the battery out of the reach of babies or children. Also when using the battery
pay attention that it is away from the charger and equipment.
Charging time
Do not continue to charge battery over specified time (overcharge)
If you charge battery over the specified time there is the possibility that the battery might
generate heat, smoke, rupture or flames.
Store
Do not put into a microwave or a high pressure container
It causes heat, smoke, rupture or flames because of a sudden developing heat or damage
of the sealing air of battery.
Leakage
Do not use a leaked battery nearby fire
If liquid is leaking from the battery (or the battery gives out strange smell) get the battery
away from flammable objects immediately. If you do not do so, the electrolyte leaked
from the battery will catch fire and cause smoke, flames or rupture.
Rust, changing color and deformation
Do not use a damaged battery
In case that the battery has bad smell, has changed color, has deformed or causes
something wrong when using (includes charging and storage) do not use equipment or
charger with it and do not use it. If an abnormal battery is used it will cause heat, smoke,
rupture or flames.

For transmitters, whose maximum nominal power is not given in the table above, the
recommended safe distance d in metres (m) can be calculated by using the equation, which
the respective column is a part of, where P is the maximum nominal power of the appliance
in watts (W) according to the specification of the transmitter manufacturer.
NOTE 1 The higher frequency range is at 80 MHz and 800 MHz.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not be applicable in all cases. The spread of electromagnetic
fields is influenced by absorption and reflection of buildings, objects and people.
