989-362-9637 rachel.martin02@tawas.net December 16, 2016 Curtis E Odell 8800 Greenbelt Rd Greenbelt, MD 20771 Dear Mr. Odell: Upon hearing of a job opening with your Astrophysics Department with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, I could not wait to contact you. I know that Goddard Space Flight Center would be a wonderful place for me to grow my skills in physics, utilizing what I have learned from my Advanced Physics class. My skills, such as working with others, dedication to my work, and passion for physics, would greatly benefit your team at Goddard Space Flight Center. In my several extracurricular and work experiences, such as working at the Family Theater, being an active member of our varsity soccer team and youth group, as well as my background in sciences and maths, I have gained a knowledge base which makes me a strong candidate. I understand the importance of working on a team with people of various ages and abilities. At the Family Theatre, I was one of the youngest workers, placing me in charge of moving heavy objects and doing quick math to add up customers totals. Understanding where I lay in the overall company is a knowledge that you cannot teach. Working hard to achieve a common goal and taking any extra steps to get there reflects my dedication. For our soccer team, we were attempting to raise enough funds to purchase new jerseys; I was one of the lead team members who organized and ran the bake sale we held, getting there earlier and staying later than the others. I will bring a determination and dedication to your department and work hard each day. In my education thus far, I have taken the highest math classes and have taken nearly every one of the science classes offered at our school. My passion for learning about our universe has ignited a desire to help increase the knowledge of all. Thank you for your consideration, and I am excited to meet you soon. Please contact me at 989-820-5399 or at rachel.martin02@tawas.net. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,
