The c onduc tiv ity of a s ubs tanc e is the meas ure of its ab ility to c onduc t

To meas ure c onduc tiv ity in a liquid, you ins ert two plates in the liquid.
As s hown in th e F igu re, thes e plates (c alled elec trodes) are eac h 1 c m

dis pl aying the a mo unt of meas ured c urrent on a meter, s c reen, or

Sev eral kin ds of s ens ors , or probes , are us ed to meas ure the
c onduc tiv ity of a proc es s liquid. The tw o main kin ds are:
Electro d e p rob e:
The elec trode probe ope rates by applyi ng a fix ed-amp litude , s quare-

If the s ize of the el ec trode plates is c hanged, th e amo unt of c u rrent

A c onduc tiv ity probe mus t be mounted s o that it is in direc t c ontac t with

The i nduc tiv e magnetic field p robe , als o referred to as a n elec trode-

The induc tiv e probe is made up of two c ompletel y enc l os ed e lec tric al
