Redmi Note 3 special edition KATE

unofficial bootloader unlock

TWRP install
install xiaomi.eu multilanguage ROM
Read this entire tutorial one time before starting.
You will lose your data going through this procedure. Backup your phone
before starting.
Step 1) Enable USB debugging
How to enable USB debugging?
Well its easy; go to settings on your phone. Then click on About Phone
now tap 7 Times on MIUI version.
This will enable developer options on your phone. Now go back to main
settings menu.
Click on Additional Settings Developer Settings Enable USB
debugging.

Step 2) Flashing fastboot ROM (included or downloaded at xiaomi.com)

Install Miflash on your Windows PC. This will install drivers as well.
Extract the fastboot ROM .tgz to C:\ (root of partition) so you have
C:\foldername\images\*herearefiles*
Extract fastboot_edl.rar to C:\
Shut down your phone and press volume down + power.
This will get you to fastboot mode. Connect your phone to the PC, and
get Miflash started. Then you go to the folder with the edl stuff and run
edl.cmd. This will put your phone from fastboot mode to edl mode.
Flash the fastboot ROM now by using flash all option and choosing the
fastboot ROM directory you prepared. When Miflash says that flashing
was successful reboot your phone it takes a while.
Step 3) Flashing modified fastboot ROM
Copy the file from
emmc_appsboot.mbn_UNLOCK_MARSHMALLOW.zip
into fastboot ROM directory C:\foldername\images\*herearefiles* and
overwrite the existing file. Then repeat Step 2) so you are ready to
unlock the bootloader.
Step 4) Unlocking the bootloader
Boot to fastboot mode again as explained above.
Now open the cmd.exe inside your AnF_MM.zip folder (extracted to C:\)
and type:
fastboot oem device-info
It will show you the current bootloader status.
Now type:
fastboot oem unlock-go
This will unlock your bootloader.

Type in the previous command again to check if the status of bootloader

had changed or not.
Type "fastboot reboot" command to reboot phone and enjoy your unlocked
bootloader!
Restoring locked bootloader
To restore the default bootloader, copy and paste the original
emmc_appsboot.mbn from MARSHMALLOW Fastboot ROM to the
AnF_MM.zip folder
and type command on cmd
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot flash abootbak emmc_appsboot.mbn
And finally "fastboot reboot" command to reboot phone.
NOTE: DON'T FLASH MIUI RECOVERY ZIP ROM VIA TWRP OR OTA
after unlocking bootloader. IT HAS STOCK BOOTLOADER AND IT WILL
RELOCK BOOTLOADER AND THEN BOOTLOOP. Only use a
MARSHMALLOW Fastboot ROM to unlock your bootloader.
3

Hint: edl mode batch is needed to get Miflash flashing the fastboot ROM
once you have booted to fastboot mode.
Bootloops? Flash fastboot ROM with modified emmc_appsboot.mbn one
more time and start all over.
CAUTION: Create a backup of EFS/Radio using TWRP before flashing
custom ROMs. Save that EFS backup to your PC.
Step 5)
Use ZCX TWRP recovery installer by Raaj52 (for Kenzo RMN3 SD) for
your Kate (RMN3SE) inside ZCX_TWRP_0917.zip it works and is fully
functional. Simply run the installer (Flash.bat) after you entered fastboot
mode as explained above. CAUTION: After flashing the recovery
successfully directly boot into ZCX TWRP recovery by pressing volume
up + power. This will prevent the TWRP recovery getting replaced by
stock recovery. Maybe have a look at Raaj52s XDA thread once in a
while to get an updated ZCX TWRP.

Step 6)
Flash the xiaomi.eu ROM after doing a full wipe (keep internal storage
with the ROM you want to flash). I will not explain how to use TWRP
now. Google is your friend.
