News from Our Classroom

January 23, 2017

THANK YOU!!
Our current read aloud is called Wonder by
RJ Palacio. Please ask your child about this wonderful book we are reading. It has a great message in it
that all students can relate to. While reading this
book we have had some thoughtful discussions
about how to treat other people and about the precepts mentioned in the text. The two precepts we
have focused on so far include:
1. When given the opportunity to be right or be
kind, choose kind!

The Week

2. Your deeds are your monuments!

Thank you for all the support in the Reading for Education fundraiser! We had an abundant amount of students turn in
their booklets full of addresses. Although it can be time consuming, its definitely a great way to earn money for our school. We
really appreciate your help!
Keep working on raising money for Jump Rope for
Heart! Most students have been really motivated to get donations for this great cause! It just goes to show what caring and
generous students we have here at South Newton Elementary!
The form and money for Jump Rope for Heart is due on February
10th.
Reminder: Monday, January 30thField Trip to see Dinosaur
Live. Please have your child wear their South Newton shirt.
