Trade and Market Access Coordinator (Paarl)

HORTGRO, a national service platform for a number of horticultural industry organisations, coordinate various
activities focussing on markets, production and a range of other functions, has a vacancy for a Trade and Market
Access Coordinator.
Focus of the position will be on the technical aspects of: Maintenance of existing markets, gaining access to new
export markets and imports for various products and product groups to enhance and support the current
capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Planning, organising and coordinating.
Updating Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) list and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Maintenance and updating of various research and industry systems and databases including Phytosanitary
Information Packages (PIPs) and Pest Risk Assessments (PRAs).
Ongoing communication with relevant role-players.
Link between researchers and industry bodies.
Report writing.
Support researchers on admin and coordination aspects.
Support to and participation in trade delegations (incoming and outgoing).

Requirements:
A relevant post-matric qualification, min BSc with Pathology or Entomology as areas of expertise
(An MSc will count in your favour).
3 5 year work experience in a related position will benefit the applicant.
Computer literate in the complete MS Office Package.
Analytical, systems orientated person.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with various nationalities.
Attention to detail.

Deadline driven with the ability to work under pressure (time management skills).
Excellent written and oral communication skills with good writing skills.
Exceptional planning and organisational skills.
Enthusiasm, energy, self-motivation, flexibility and passion is a must.
Good understanding of dynamics within the fruit industry local market and export knowledge.
Remuneration:
Market related package depending on qualification and experience.
