The Enlightenment Era (1750-1800):

In his essay "What Is Enlightenment?" (1784), the German

philosopher Immanuel Kant summed up the era's motto in the
following terms: "Dare to know! Have courage to use your own
reason!"
Given statement is the evidence of the symptoms of the
enlightenment era. Politics, philosophy, science and communication
of Europe were rejuvenated during this era. It also marked with the
age of reason. All the thinkers who belonged to this era raised
question against already applied traditions and customs. The
American and French revolutions took their origin from this era and
they were the results of radical thinking imposed by this movement.

Commencement of Enlightenment Era:

During the early enlightenment era Francis Bacon, Thomas Hobbs,
Renee Discaters and Galileo were the key figures who influenced
this era. According to Locke human-beings gained their knowledge
from already settled customary methods while they should have
used their own power of mind to get themselves educated.
Moreover, customs and traditions were questioned due to their weak
and so called basis. One is that is to be kept in the mind while
discussing enlightenment is that enlightenment wasnt a unified
idea or conception. It was in fact a divided concept. Scottish
enlightenment was differed from German enlightenment; similarly,
French enlightenment was far cry from English enlightenments.
Perhaps the common traits which emerged from these various
enlightenments were questioning already observed beliefs and
progress through dialogue.

Peak of the Enlightenment:

Enlightenment met its peak when renowned philosophers
publications were published. Among these philosophers names of
Voltaire, Rousseau and Diderot are embossed. During this era of
high enlightenment a quote was famous and the very quoted also

summarizes all the concepts of this era. That quote consists of only
a few words but carries the myriads of the meanings. Everything in
this world can be rationally demystified and cataloged.
This was the Era when Fredrick and the Great brought their
respective nations closer to abolish the contentions among them.
Same nations used to be in the condition of daggers drawn when
they were the days of brutality. These days also brought religious
revolt. Christians tried to rebuild the fundamentals of their faith. In
the same days materialists tried to convince the religious-minded
people that their now role of God behind the creation of the
universe.

Outcomes:
There was much havoc which was the outcome of outspread of
prevailing enlightenment ideas. One of the most powerful of them is
the French Revolution. It was the result of the concept that old
authorities should be uprooted for the preaching of new ideas and
considerations. But at last when enlightenment finally met its end
Romanticism took its existence.
