A Pull Towards Earth and a Light in the Sky
Long before the emergence of the first human civilizations, there lived a small isolated
society high beyond the thick verdurous jungles of Mother Earth. With peace, civilians walked
on levitating lumps of soil that hung beneath the clouds. Under their feet were steep mountains
that lingered on top lush green vegetation, with water gushing through wavy streams. On each of
these floating islands were developing communities, with rows of stone cottages and open grass
fields that were used for regular trading and farming. The largest of them all beheld a colossal
translucent pyramid that shined as bright as the inferno of exploding stars. This one was reserved
for the all-powerful founder, Ilio Agori, who was a mysterious creature said to originate from the
cosmos.
Mother Earth soon became an intergalactic hub for foreign merchants. Her exotic terrain
and fathomless azure oceans summed up to a unique beauty that attracted creatures from all
around the universe. When Ilio Agori first arrived in this world, he made an oath to enrich her
gorgeousness and protect her from destruction. And in the society he had created, all were free to
roam in and out of Mother Earth, as long as they respected the environment around them.
Some early humans lived in the society too, but they coexisted with otherworldly beings,
mainly the Exogiinos. Like humans, Exogiinos were bipedal and possessed opposable thumbs
and fingers, but their feline-shaped heads and violet complexion made them stand out more in

public commerce. Although no one knows where Ilio Agori was born, his daughter, Varytita,
was a hybrid of an Exogiinos, and she was referred to as the most beautiful being in all of
Mother Earth.
For Varytita, life was constantly glamorous. Everywhere she went, people showered her
with enamored compliments due to her exquisiteness. But to her eyes, there was nothing better
than the beauty of nature. Varytita was always close to Mother Earth, ever since she was a young
toddler, and her affection towards nature always brought surprises. Her first experience with the
natural world was when she danced swiftly with the water orbs. Encapsulated into glowing
bubbles, large water molecules floated with the wild wind, bringing joy towards the young
Varytita. Since then, anything that was a part of the environment, including the fulvous leaves,
the grassy turf, the aquamarine glaciers, hovered freely around the atmosphere.
One day, just as Varytita was letting the silky wind weave teardrop petals through her
hair in a meadow, she spotted a pellucid oval-shaped vessel descending steadily from the
heavens, docking on Mother Earths soft carpet of emerald grass. Curiously, she left the playful
wind to investigate the source.
Rising from one of the hills, Varytita observed the strange beings climbing out of their
ship. Their body structures were similar to hers, but the presence of extra limbs and rectangular
red eyes did make them more distinct. New traders were common on Earth, so she decided to
greet them peacefully.
Welcome to Mother Earth! I am Varytita, daughter of Ilio Agori. Are you trying to find
the Great Exchange Square?

Her tone of speech sparked some interest among the strange men. Murmurs of whispers
began exchanging in a language that Varytita could not understand, and doubts clouded her
pretty features.
Yes, beautiful. We are the Fonias, and we are lost. Please help us. Smooth, honeyed
words quickly rolled off of one of the beings tongue, though his shoulders reverberated with
suppressed laughs.
Varytita felt a nudge as Mother Earth hitched the ground underneath her feet in a signal
that something was indeed sketchy. As she stared puzzled at them, she felt a dark energy that
glinted through their dull, hollow eyes. Although she hesitated, Varytita decided to believe them.
Alright, she responded, Let me show you the wa-
Her words were cut off with a startled squeal as one of the creatures grasped her foot and
smacked her down on the ground in rapid, easy to miss movements. Another one took hold of
Varytitas arm and knotted thorny vines around her wrists. The spikes dug into her soft skin,
cutting deep and drawing blood. Cries of suffering echoed from her jaws, and all Mother Earth
could do was stare in horror as Varytita was thrown into the ship.
Terrified, Mother Earth tried to rise the mountains to alert Ilio Agori about the incident.
However, just as she neared his glowing pyramid, excruciatingly painful burns flooded her face
and body. Blisters erupted over her skin as it began to flame with unbearable heat. Mother
Earths mouth gaped open into a soundless scream, and she looked back to see her precious
meadows that blanketed the mountains in swaying blossoms swallowed by greedy wicked
flames. Her beautiful flowers that were just starting to bloom and blush withered into flakes of
ash and the long tickling grass stands blazed into smoke.

Flocks of similarly shaped spaceships began to emerge from the horizon, filling the air
with harsh buzzing and simultaneously destroying Mother Earths beauty. The once alluring
fields of verdure were dumped with toxic fluids that deformed any nearby flora into crumbling
rust, and her immense, magnificent glaciers were melted into despairing lagoons that flooded the
rest of environment. One by one, each of the floating islands was attacked by the Fonias, with
frantic civilians running wildly for help. By the time Ilio Agori realized what was going on, it
was too late.
Most of the population of the Exogiinos were wiped out completely, and the few that
survived were children that hid with the rest of the humans. Hovering villages had fallen out of
balance, smashing onto the faces of weeping mountains. Everything was in ruin, and Ilio Agori
became furious.
Just as the Fonias were about to leave with Varytita as a captive, Ilio Agoris luminous
pyramid shot up into the sky and jetted out to the rim of outer space. Through the openings of her
cage, Varytita caught a glimpse of her father stepping out of his ship. All of the Fonian vessels
halted to a stop.
You have destroyed my cherished planet, my Mother Earth, you have murdered
innocent lives, and worst of all, you have stolen my little girl... Oh no, youre not running away!
At an instant, an incredibly powerful force shook the entire world, and a beam of blinding
light exploded from the pyramid. Every object that was suspended in the sky was suddenly
pulled rapidly towards Mother Earth. The blazing space crafts began falling downward at
ridiculous speed that ship by ship, each vessel obliterated into burning dust.

When Varytita woke up, she was lying on Mother Earths soft snow and was greeted by
his fathers face, shining as bright as his soul.
Its okay darling, he whispered through Varytitas right ear as tears started to rain from
her pupils. He smoothed her soft hair and tucked the loose strands behind her ear comfortingly
No one is coming back to our home, and there will be no more trading with any beings
from outside of this world. And if those monsters ever come back, they will burn as they fall
towards Mother Earth. She and I have agreed on placing several pyramids around the globe to
keep this force in balance, and now everything in the air will eventually fall to the ground. Plus,
you will be much closer to Mother Earth and can play with her every day.
But where will you be, father? Varytita questioned. Where will your pyramid float?
With a small, sad smile, Ilio Agori hugged his daughter affectionately and kissed her
forehead.
I will be staying beyond the sky, right where I can see all of Mother Earth and keep
watch on unlawful attackers. On the bright side, I will be able to dance with her every moment
and give her light as we spin through the void of space.
Varytita observed his fathers gleaming eyes, wiping the tears from both his and her face.
For the first time after the bloodshed, the three were in peace and harmony.
And so, Ilio Agori kept a keen eye on Mother Earth out in outer space and illuminated her
wonders, while Varytita used this new force to sled cheerfully down snowy mountains. By the
time the Golden Age arrived, philosophers had referred to Mother Earth as just Earth, along with
the renaming of Ilio Agori to the Sun. And for Varytitas pulling force, it became commonly
known as the force of gravity.
