Essay on the most unforgettable event of the Indian

freedom movement
India got freedom on 15th August 1947 from the British Empire after the
long struggle of over 100 years. Lots of freedom fighters sacrifice their
life to make us free and work hard to protect this freedom. It was not an
easy task to get freedom from the British rule but the struggle of our
Indian freedom fighters makes it possible all the ways. Many freedom
movements and policies were conducted against the British Empire and
finally India got long awaited freedom on 15th August, 1947.
Many Indian freedom movements and campaigning were started by our
freedom fights to bring the Indian people together and fought against the
Britishers and their unfair policies. Some of the great movements of that
time are The Indian Mutiny of 1857 or Revolt of 1857, Quit India
movement, Salt Satyagraha or Dandi March, Civil Disobedience
Movement, Non-Cooperation Movement, Jallianwala Bagh massacre,
Khilafat Movement, Swadeshi movement and boycott movement and
lots more movements are conducted by our freedom fighters and as a
result of these movements Britishers finally raised their hands and set
India free after the rule of over 100 years.
All these Indian freedom struggle movements had their own importance
and impact but the most unforgettable event of the Indian freedom
movement for me is the Swadeshi movement launched on August 7,
1905 at the Calcutta Town Hall, in Bengal after the orders of partition of
Bengal by the Viceroy of India and continued up to 1911. Boycott
movement was also launched along with the Swadeshi movement to
boycott of government service, courts, schools and colleges and of
foreign goods. The movements were started to encourage people using
goods produced in India and burning British-made goods. Bal
Gangadhar Tilak encouraged Swadeshi and Boycott movement after the
British government decided the partition of Bengal. Bal Gangadhar

Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala Lajpat Rai, Aurobindo Ghosh, VO

Chidambaram Pillai and Babu Genu were some the great fighters who
flourished this movement and make it successful throughout the India.
In 1909, the movement had spread across the country and people had
started anti-partition and anti-colonial movements. In Andhra Pradesh,
the Swadeshi movement was also known as Vandemataram movement.
Later the movements started by Mahatma Gandhi such as Satyagraha
movement, Non-Cooperation movement etc. all were based on Swadeshi
movement. It was both a political and economic movement which not
only affect the Britishers externally but it direct effect on their economy.
The Swadeshi Movement, now known as Make in India campaign is
the one of the movement which still need to be adopted by all of us to
make our Indian economy stronger. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had
launched Make in India campaign on 25 September 2014 to encourage
multi-national, as well as national companies to manufacture their
products in India so that India can become stronger financially as well as
increase the job opportunities and skill enhancement in many sectors
of the economy. And its our collective duty to make this campaign
successful across India.
