MATERIALS
All materials shall be purchased in accordance with the applicable standards and additional
requirements stated in the above mentioned specifications and documents.

Shell and Head plate material SA 387 Gr. 12 Cl. 2 + 410S.

Rest of raw materials, according to preliminary GA drawings.

All materials will have North American, Western European or Japanese origin .
All materials shall be new in accordance with the required standards, and the major parts
subject to pressure shall comply with the corresponding quality certificates.
No materials shall be employed for fabrication without having first obtained approval from
our client's inspector, for which purpose he shall be furnished with the corresponding
certificates and means to inspect them.

6.

FABRICATION
The fabrication shall be carried out at our Gijn workshop (Spain), under our direction,
supervision and quality control.
6.1. Fabrication procedures
The fabrication procedures shall be in accordance with our Quality Control Manual.
All the materials, duly identified and marked, shall enter our shops as work orders,
after being accepted by our Quality Control Service.
Materials, which are to be divided for fabrication, shall have their identification marks
duly transferred.
Each fabrication stage shall be monitored by the competent shop foreman.
6.2. Cutting
The plates shall be machine oxy-cut (or plasma-cut if stainless steel). Should any
manual oxy-cutting become necessary, the surfaces shall be ground flush and smooth
finished.
Clad bevels shall be readily removed for welding to ensure that no carbon dilution
remains on overlay.
6.3. Welding
The welds of temporary elements shall be removed with a procedure granting that no
base material is eliminated.

All the welds shall be carried out according to certified procedures and by certified
welders.
Joints which cannot be welded on both sides shall be TIG welded.
Head and cone section shall be manufactured from petals and welded by SAW, with
our own proprietary technology developed to increase process reliability and quality
with successful results.
Clad restoration will be performed with ER Ni Cr-3/ER Ni Cr Fe-2.
6.4. Nozzles
The nozzles shall be made up of WN flange + selfreinforcing neck per Fig. UW 16.1 (f4) ASME VIII Div. 1.
6.5. Heads
The heads shall be made up of petals and the crown in pieces. They shall be coldformed in our Gijn shop and SAW welded using FCPs own proprietary technology.
6.6

Cones
The cones shall be made up of petals with one circular weld only. They shall be
cold-formed in our Gijn shops and SAW welded using FCPs own proprietary
technology.

6.7

Shell-cone-skirt joint
The shell-cone-skirt shall be forged ring with configuration as per drawing 136014-211-006 rev. C

7.

INSPECTION
The client or his representative shall be entitled to inspect the material in our shops or those
of our suppliers.
They shall have free access to our shops throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Before starting the manufacture of any part of the equipment, the material to be used and
its certificates shall be submitted to the inspector for approval.
Once manufacture is completed, and prior to performing the hydrotest, a complete report on
all the inspections and controls carried out shall be submitted to our client's inspector. The
equipment shall be free from slag, weld spatter, grease, etc., before final inspection.
Before starting radiography, the client's inspector shall be provided with a sketch, reflecting
the position of each radiography and its identification number.
Both fabrication and inspection shall be carried out following the operating standards and
criteria of our Q.C. Manual and the requirements of the fabrication specifications.
Our Quality Assurance Manual is to ISO 9001 and our Quality Assurance System has been
certified by Lloyd's Register to ISO 9001/UNE 66901.

Our proposal in this Chapter is to use TOFD in lieu of RX as an alternative, as this technique
allows a higher degree of flexibility for fabrication process. Blind qualification of TODF
procedure is included in the Scope of Supply.
A typical ITP for fabrication and inspection of coke drums is provided in Attachment F of this
Technical Bid as a sample.

8.

PACKING AND TRANSPORT

The equipment shall be properly packed and protected for shipment to avoid any damage
during transportation. The hoisting area shall be clearly marked.
The flanges and the machined parts shall have a coat of corrosion resistant varnish.
The spare parts shall be packed separately in wooden crates.
The equipment items shall be delivered FCA DFCP shop (Gijn).
Thanks to the unsurpassable location of our manufacturing facilities, directly connected to
the sea in Gijon, in north coast of Spain, our manufacturing capabilities have no physical
limits neither in size or weight, allowing us to approach successfully the fabrication and
shipping of any equipment, no matter the size or weight.
We also have our own barge for the transport of the vessels from our own pier to any
commercial port, eliminating any risk of delays on shipping because of ship/barge
availability.

9.

SPARE PARTS
9.1. Our supply includes the following Spare Parts for Commissioning for nozzles 1

10. DELIVERY
Standard delivery time for this type of equipment is 13-15 months from receipt of purchase
order or document of intent. However, this term can be adjusted to your needs depending

VALIDITY
This quotation has a validity period of 15 days from date of issue.
Due to the current situation of the market we cannot extend the validity of this bid further
than 15 days. Once this period is elapsed, we will have pleasure in updating our quotation
upon request of our customer.
Quoted prices are firm and shall not be subject to revision throughout the above stated
validity period of this quotation.

5.

GUARANTEES
DURO FELGUERA CALDERERIA PESADA, S.A. guarantees that all materials to be used for
this supply shall be new and of suitable quality, in accordance with the standards and
specifications which will govern the job.
The goods shall be free from defects due to faulty materials or workmanship.
The guarantee shall be valid for 12 months from the date of commissioning or 18 months
from delivery, whichever occurs first.
Duro Felguera Calderera Pesada, S.A. shall not assume any responsibility whatsoever
derived from this contract, other than the free-of-charge repair and/or replacement of
supplied parts or components, which may not comply with the technical or performance
conditions established under the contract, and the customer renounces any other claim for
damages, losses or non-compliance with the present contract.

6.

LIQUIDATED DAMAGES
In order to apply liquidated damages on the total price of any equipment item/s delayed, it
must be proven beyond a doubt, that any such delay is directly attributable to DFCP.
Upon payment of those liquidated damages, DFCP shall be exempt from any other claims
that may be placed, with the exception of those mentioned in Chapter 5 of this Commercial
Bid.

7.

LIABILITIES
Notwithstanding any other provision in the Contract, neither party shall be liable to the other
for any loss of profit or indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever
arising, which is suffered or incurred by the other and which is directly or indirectly
connected with the Contract.
FCPs liabilities for damages or breach of contract will be limited to a maximum of 100% of
Contract Price.

NOTE: T&Cs shall be agreed prior to an eventual award.
