Disputes over Kashmir
Intro: Since the Partition, there has been an on going dispute over who should claim the
land of Kashmir. The two countries, Pakistan and India, have been at war for almost 70 over this
land. The relationship between Pakistan and India have been everything but good during these
past 70 years. The heat between these two nuclear equipped countries continues to grow in size
since the beginning. The cause is not helped by the constant invasions, or cheap shots between
the two countries.
Section 1: Recently, Pakistan took another heated cheap shot at their enemy, India, which
took a few officers lives. The squad that was sent to overtake the base, had killed a few members
and then took 16 people as captives. Of these 16 people who were viciously taken hostage, two
were women and two were children. This put India in a more than terrible mood, which has lead
experts to say Its clear that India wont be responding in the predictable
fashion,(Gokhale). The Pakistani Squad had killed three people in one building, then voyaging
to two other building to take their hostages. Although the hostages were saved, the three militants
who took the buildings were killed along with two soldiers (hostages).
Section 2: The recent events relating Pakistan and India directly relate to wht we have
learned in class. In class, we have learned that the relationship between India and Pakistan have

no been well. They have been at war for almost 70 years where they have not been able to follow
through with a cease fire. The attack on this base, which ended in lives loss, was a continuation
of the war and a representation of the hatred both countries have against each other. The war
keeps escalating, both countries have even tested nuclear weapons!
Section 3: I do not agree with what has happened at this base. I believe that the two
countries should begin working out a solution and not taking cheap shots at each other to make
the situation a lot worse. Both of the countries are acting childish and stubborn, because they are
not working to fix a problem. The countries should work towards solving issues in their
countries, such as the education epidemic in India, or the water pollution of the Ganges. Both
countries should stop being childish and work to maintain for their people rather than kill off
their enemy.
