The poultry processing equipment,

parts and service company began
manufacturing and selling the
wing segmenter in 2014.
Weve had a great response
to our wing segmenter, says
Dane Woods, Cantrells General
Manager of Sales/Service/
Engineering. Customers like
that they can make all the
wing cuts in one place and do
it more accurately, at high line
speeds, on birds of various
sizes and with less labor.
Many have said there is no
comparison to the improvement
of the cuts now versus their past
wing segmenting operation.

In a little over two

years, Cantrell has
sold more than 100
Wing Segmenters.

Cantrells Expanded Machine Shop Moves to Renovated Building

Cantrell has moved its expanded Machine Shop
operation into a remodeled 8,000-square foot building
at its headquarters.
Over the last three years, Cantrell has invested in new
manufacturing equipment to increase its production
capabilities of equipment and spare parts.

With the investment in new equipment, we needed

more space, Cantrell General Manager Finance/
Operation Tony Rice says. We renovated a building
onsite and moved the machining equipment there,
which opened up additional manufacturing space in the
building that previously held that equipment.
Cantrell, a poultry and food processing
equipment sales/parts and service company,
has acquired an Okuma Vertical Machining
Center, Okuma Lathe, Accurshear,
Accurpress, Haas Turning Center and Haas
Machining Center in the last three years.
The move to the new building allowed
Cantrell to expand its Hob Shop for
manufacturing of gears for its equipment.
Cantrell remodeled a building to make room for its
expanded machine shop.

Wing Segmenter Sales, continued from page 1

The Cantrell Wing Segmenter is capable of processing up to
185 wings per minute on a processing line or as a standalone
application. The wing segmenter properly orients the wing
at various line speeds for accuracy on each individual cut.
The shackle transfer eliminates misfeeds. Processors can cut
tips, flats and drummettes at one location. The CWCS-8400
is capable of handling varying sizes of wings.
Our wing segmenter virtually takes away the variable
of human error with most semi-automatic segmenters,

Woods says. Our machine removes the wing from the

shackle and gently bends it, allowing the blade to naturally
find the center of the joint. The result is more cuts made
in the joint, where you want them.
The segmenter is designed to allow adjustments during
operation and easy access for blade replacement. The
CWCS-8400 is energy efficient and the open design
makes for easy cleaning.
