Thank you for purchasing your Satellite Finder


from RadioShack. You can use it to easily tune
your outdoor or indoor satellite dish, and
determine the direction of the strongest satellite
signal. Please read this users guide before
installing, setting up and using your new satellite
nder.

Caution: Be sure to unplug the receiver when connecting and disconnecting the coaxial
cable between the receiver and LNBF.
If your receiver displays the signal strength on the TV screen, use an indoor connection.
1. Unplug your receiver from its power source.
2. Disconnect the existing coaxial cable from receiver then connect it to the FROM LNBF
terminal on the satellite nder.
3. Connect one end of the supplied coaxial cable to your receiver and the other end to the
TO RCVR terminal on the satellite nder. Plug in the receiver and turn it on.
4. Roughly align the dish by setting the azimuth and elevation angles to the settings
indicated by your receiver.

5. Rotate LEVEL ADJ. until the satellite nders strength reads approximately 5.
6. Slightly adjust the dish until the satellite nders strength reading increases. If the
strength reading approaches full scale, rotate LEVEL ADJ. to adjust it back to
approximately 5.
7. Adjust the dish until you get the highest possible reading.

8. Check your receiver to verify you have the right satellite.

9. Turn off the receiver and unplug it from the power source.
10. Disconnect the existing coaxial cable from FROM LNBF terminal on the satellite nder,
and then connect it to the receiver.

To avoid the full-scale strength reading, do not


place the satellite nder in front of C band dish.

11. Restore power to the receiver.

When connecting to a LNBF with gain higher


than 6 dB, you may use a 6 dB attenuator or a
long cable (such as 20 ft. RG-59UG) between the
satellite nder and LNBF to attenuate the signal.

The red indicator lights to indicate the satellite


channels have 22kHz signal and the receiver is
transmitting 22kHz tone to LNBF.
The satellite nders buzzer sounds when detecting
the strength signal. The buzzer sounds loudly when
the strong signal is detected.

Caution: Be sure to unplug the receiver when connecting and disconnecting the coaxial
cable between the receiver and LNBF.
If your receiver cannot display the signal strength on the TV screen, an outdoor
connection is necessary.
1. Unplug your receiver from its power source.
2. Disconnect the existing coaxial cable from LNBF then connect it to TO RCVR terminal.
3. Use a male-to-male F cable coupler (not supplied, available at your local RadioShack
store or at www.radioshack.com) to connect the satellite nder to the LNBF. Then plug in
the receiver, and turn it on.
4. Follow Steps 4 to 9 under Indoor Connection to make adjustments.
5. Disconnect the coaxial cable from TO RCVR terminal on the satellite nder, and then
connect it to the LNBF.
6. Restore power to the receiver.

Adjusting Satellite Finders Sensitivity


Note: If the satellite nders needle is jumping then the sensitivity is too high. Use a Phillips
screwdriver to lower the sensitivity by adjusting SENS. ADJUST to L. To increase the
sensitivity, adjust SENS. ADJUST to H.
