Motivation and Introduction:

To motivate students, give a brief overview of how the lesson will be run and the key
areas that will be focused on so they are aware of what to expect

Class Organisation

Resources/Equipm
ent

Beginning class organisation:

Bring the class into a stationery point in front of you, ensuring students are
positioned out of the direction of the sun
Keep all netballs in the bag away from the group to ensure students are not tempted
to grab any equipment until requested
When allocating the equipment, select 1 student per pair to collect a netball to avoid
a large rush
Always demonstrate the activity before sending students off too complete
Warmup
Students to stand in a line along
the baseline and run in a line
from one end of the court to the
other

20 x netballs

Students to jog, sprint, hop, skip

and jump in variation
Once variations have been
completed request students to
partner up with the person to
their right
One person per pair to collect a
ball
Each pair to pass and jog down
the court ensuring they are
focusing on accurate passes and
correct footwork (no travelling)
complete this up and back 3
times with each variation of a
pass

Bridging organization
Bring the class back into a stationery point in front of the teacher
Split the class into 2 groups by numbering each student 1-2
Select one pair and demonstrate activity 1 then select another 4 students to
demonstrate activity 2
Advise students they will have 7 minutes per station and once the whistle is blown to
swap activities
If required switch pairs up to ensure a more capable student is with a less capable
student to allow them to assist the students who are not as familiar with the skill
When allocating equipment ensure only one student per group or pair is collecting a
ball at a time
Activity 1
Activity 1 will consist of 2
stations, one shooting and one
defending, with students rotating
after 7 minutes

20 x netballs
netball goals
whistle
