Introduction to probability with examples.
Some Concepts:
Experiment: Any act or performance that can be repeated under essentially similar
conditions.
Random Experiment: An experiment whose result depends on chance.
Outcome: The result of a random experiment.
Sample Space: Collection of all possible outcomes of a random experiment.
Event: A subset of the sample space. Elementary and composite events will also be
considered.
Equally likely outcomes: Outcomes are said to be equally likely if none of them can
be expected in preference to the others.
Mutually Exclusive Events and Exhaustive Events will also be considered.
Classical Definition of probability (due to Laplace).
