1 Sandwich panels
In this section you will nd a comprehensive list of our extensive range of sandwich panels. These panels are
available for both roof and wall applications and in a wide range of core materials. When selecting sandwich panels,
please take such factors as load, safety factor and deection requirements into consideration. For further technical
data, please contact our Product Services department. Should you choose to exceed the recommended maximum
lengths, please contact our Sales department.

1A PU-foam wall panels

The PU-foam panels supplied by SAB-proel are distinguished by a combination of high insulation characteristics
and low weight. The heat insulation value of PU foam was established in accordance with the ISO 8301 standard
(Report No. 039 8-L-00). This value includes a safety coefcient in accordance with the NEN 1068 standard.
The seal in the joint can be easily compacted, and produces an excellent airtight seal under even the slightest
compression. This greatly benets the insulation value.

All PU-foam models have an sound insulation value of 26 dB(A).

All PU-foam panels supplied by SAB-proel are free of hydro chlorouorocarbons (HCFCs).

In terms of their re performance, the PU-foam sandwich elements fall into category B1,
according to the DIN 4102 standard.

PUR or PIR?
With the latest generation of foams, the difference lies in the
re behaviour due to the composition of the foam. Given the
importance of foam composition, terminology is no longer
relevant. The European standard for sandwich panels makes
no distinction between PUR and PIR, and concentrates solely
on their performance. SAB-proel panels are of the superior
standards that you can expect from us. We have developed a
new type of foam in conjunction with leading chemical rms.
This foam easily complies with the latest European standards
for re behaviour and this is the highest possible qualication
on the market for rigid foam.

Application in the food industry

The W 100-120-150-180 series of panels is ideally suited for use in
the refrigerated food industry. A special Foodsafe coating (see also
Chapter 7, Materials & Coatings) can also be applied to the panels
for this application.

2 Additional processing of sandwich panels

Saw cut and clear overlap on roong panels
In some cases, it may prove necessary to remove some of the foam and the interior skin from the end of a roong panel,
for example, at an overlap due to the roof slope exceeding the maximum length of the panel, or for drainage into the
gutter. SAB-proel can apply a saw cut to a roong panel anywhere between 80 and 250 mm from the end of the panel.
A clear overlap (foam and interior skin removed) can also be applied in the factory.

Transverse overlap on roong panels

Gutter with clear overlap

Stacking packs of roong panels

The standard method of stacking packs of roong panels is A/B/A/B (see drawing). Exceptions are made for roong
panels with a clear overlap, which are stacked B/B/B/B as standard. As an alternative, all roong panels can also be
stacked A/A/A/A in a vacuum pad pack.
Please note: Fewer panels are contained in a vacuum pad pack or a B/B/B/B stack.

Pack of A/B/A/B stacked D 75: 18 in a pack

Pack of A/A/A/A stacked D 75: 15 in a pack

Top plate
In addition, SAB-proel can supply a top plate made of a single sheet of steel, which ts the upper surface of roong
panels D 65 to D 115 inclusive. This top plate can also be folded for use as a ridge piece for example.

Crimp

Sinusoidal

Crimping entails bending a panel at a certain point to create an

SAB 42/960

angle. Each crimp creates an angle of between 1 and 5 degrees.

The spacing between the crimps must be at least 32 mm. The
panel has to remain straight for at least 150 mm on either end
before the rst crimp.

Additional processing of proled cladding Condensation-inhibiting foil

Condensation-inhibiting foil can be applied to the inside of cold roof proles to prevent condensation drips. This light-grey
condensation-inhibiting foil consists of interconnected bres, which offer sufcient space to absorb condensation. Whenever the
temperature rises and sufcient ventilation becomes available, the absorbed moisture is released into the atmosphere as water
vapour. Apart from its highly absorbent properties (700 to 900 gr/m2), this foil also provides additional sound absorption.

Transverse overlaps
In the case of transverse overlaps, it is important that proled cladding tted with condensation-inhibiting foil be post-treated on site
using a clear coating, such as Hoevenac Blank touch-up-paint. This coating prevents the absorption of exterior moisture, and should
therefore be applied over a width of 200 mm around the transverse overlaps and ends located above the guttering.

Additional processing of proled cladding Protective lm

Protective lm protects the surface from damage. The lm can

be applied to all coatings and aluminium, and is applied as
standard to stainless steel and the exterior skin of sandwich
panels. SAB-proel rmly recommends the application of
protective lm to all smooth coatings, such as polyester and
PVDF, to reduce damage during transportation and installation.
This lm can be easily removed either immediately prior to or
following installation.

5 Flashings & Flat sheet

Flashings really provide the nishing touch to your projects. So it is good to know that SAB-proel has its own
fabrication shop, which has access to the same stock of materials that we use for all our other products, in a vast
range of thicknesses, coatings and colours. Flashings are available in lengths of up to 10 metres, with a maximum
width of 1.240 mm and maximum sheet thickness of 3 mm. With a view to facilitating transportation and installation,
it is advisable not to exceed lengths of 6 metres for ashings in thin gauge material (0,63 and 0,75 mm). The use
of butt straps enables you to create neat joints. We can even supply the butt straps on request. Flashings with a
coating are supplied with a transparent protective lm. Although you can specify the shape and dimensions of the
particular ashings you require a list of popular shapes is given below.

Flat sheet

SAB-proel has its own machinery for the production of at sheet, and can therefore utilise the same wide range of
materials we use for all our products. SAB-proel can supply at sheet in lengths from 2 to 6 metres. The standard
widths available are 1.240 and 1.500 mm.

6 Purlins
Purlins are available in various different forms and systems. All our purlins can be supplied with ready made
