ForthefastenersboltsandweldsspecialFEMcomponentshadtobedevelopedtomodeltheweldsandboltsbehaviourinjoint.Allpartsof
1Dmembersandalladditionalplatesaremodelledasplate/walls.Theseelementsaremadeofsteel(metalingeneral)andthebehaviourofthis
materialissignificantlynonlinear.
Therealstressstraindiagramofsteelisreplacedbytheidealplasticmaterialfordesignpurposesinbuildingpractice.Theadvantageofideal
plasticmaterialis,thatonlyyieldstrengthandmodulusofelasticitymustbeknowntodescribethematerialcurve.Thegrantedductilityof
constructionsteelis15%.Therealusablevalueoflimitplasticstrainis5%forordinarydesign(199315appendixCparagraphC.8note1).
Thestressinsteelcannotexceedtheyieldstrengthwhenusingtheidealelasticplasticstressstraindiagram.
Realtensioncurveandtheidealelasticplasticdiagramofmaterial
CBFEMmethodtriestocreatetomodeltherealstateprecisely.Theanalysisplate/wallsarenotinterconnected,nointersectionsaregenerated
betweenthem,unlikeitisusedtowhenmodellingstructuresandbuildings.Meshoffiniteelementsisgeneratedoneachindividualplate
independentlyonmeshofotherplates.
Weldsaremodelledasspecialmasslessforceinterpolationconstrains,whichensuretheconnectionbetweentheedgeofoneplateandthe
surfaceoredgeoftheotherplate.
Thisuniquecalculationmodelofboltprovidesverygoodresultsbothforthepointofviewofprecisionandoftheanalysisspeed.Themethod
protectedbypatent.
Thesteelbaseplateisplacedlooselyontheconcretefoundation.Itisacontactelementintheanalysismodeltheconnectionresistsfullyto
compression,butdoesnotresisttotension.
Stressstraindiagramofcontactbetweentheconcreteblockandthebaseplate
Twoapproachesofmodellingweldsareimplemented.
