1. INTRODUCTION
With respect to SSL to TLS1.2 migration, compatible browsers (IE and Mozilla Firefox) need to be upgraded and
configured to access the e-Procurement portal. This is a critical security requirement from the payment gateway team of
ICICI Bank. To make successful payment transaction through e-Procurement portal, it is mandatory to make the
necessary changes in the respective browser.
Following sections provide guideline to enable the TLS 1.2 in the browser settings.

3. PROJECT HOW TO CHECK WHETHER YOUR BROWSER SUPPORTS


TLS 1.2 OR NOT
From your browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) access the following URL :

https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html
You should see the following message in the browser. If you get the following message, then you can access eProcurement application.

If you do not get the above message, then following the below instruction based on the browser and OS that you use.
Note: If you are on XP, then IE will not support TLS 1.2. You need to download and install latest Mozilla Firefox browser
which supports TLS 1.2

4. ENABLE TLS 1.2 IN INTERNET EXPLORER VERSION BELOW 11

IE versions of 8/9/10 in Windows 7 and Windows 8 do not support TLS 1.2 by default. Users have to enable the
same as given in the subsequent pages in this section.
IE versions 11 and above supports TLS 1.2 by default.
IE 6, 7 and 8 in Windows XP, Windows 2003 server, Windows Vista does not support TLS 1.2. Users have to
install latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

Enabling TLS 1.2 in IE 8, 9 and 10:

C. Click on Advanced Option select (Tick) TLS 1.2 Then Click on Ok Button.

5. TLS 1.2 ENABLEMENT IN MOZILLA FIREFOX

Versions 24 and below do not support TLS 1.2


Versions 27 and above support TLS 1.2.
TLS 1.2 Is disabled by default in below Firefox versions:
o 24, ESR 24.024.1.0, ESR 24.1.1, 25.0.0, 25.0.1, 26.
If TLS 1.2 is not supported in your browser, it is recommended to install Mozilla Firefox version 43 and above
which has TLS 1.2 by default.
For the versions which has TLS 1.2, but not enabled by default, follow the steps given below to enable TLS 1.2

Steps to enable TLS 1.2:

b. Search security.tls.version.max & security.tls.version.min

c. Double click on security.tls.version.max set as Number 3 to enable TLS 1.2

e. Verify security.tls.version.max & security.tls.version.max both the preferences is set as Number 3 to enable TLS 1.2

Check TLS 1.2 support by accessing the site: ttps://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html


If it shows TLS 1.2 is supported, then try to access e-Procurement site.

6. VERIFY JAVA VERSION


Verify in your the system whether Java 1.7 or 1.8 is Installed or Not. Click on the below URL to verify.

If your browser is having java 1.6, then you need to upgrade java to 1.7 or 1.8.

7. ENABLE JAVA IN BROWSERS


If Java installed in the system, Verify whether its enabled or not in the browsers.

Microsoft Internet Explorer:

Click Tools and then Internet Options


Select the Security tab, and select the Custom Level button
Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets

Make sure the Enable radio button is checked


Click OK to save your preference

Mozilla Firefox

Open the Firefox browser or restart it, if it is already running


From the Firefox menu, select Tools, then click the Add-ons option
In the Add-ons Manager window, select Plugins
Click Java (TM) Platform plugin (Windows) or Java Applet Plug-in (Mac OS X) to select it
Check that the option selected is Ask to Activate or Always Activate or on older Firefox versions, click on
the Enable button (if the button says Disable, Java is already enabled)

8. INSTALL JAVA IN WINDOWS MACHINE


If Java is not installed in the system, then install Java version 1.7 or later as given below.

Online/Offline Installation for Java Version 8:

Click on Windows Online/Offline


The File Download dialog box appears prompting you to run or save the download file
To run the installer, click Run.
To save the file for later installation, click Save.
Choose the folder location and save the file to your local system.
Tip: Save the file to a known location on your computer, for example, to your desktop.
Double-click on the saved file to start the installation process.
The installation process starts. Click the Install button to accept the license terms and to continue with the
installation.

Oracle has partnered with companies that offer various products. The installer may present you with
option to install these programs when you install Java. After ensuring that the desired programs are
selected, click the Next button to continue the installation.
A few brief dialogs confirm the last steps of the installation process; click Close on the last dialog. This
will complete Java installation process.
