Welcome!
I am very excited about our upcoming semester! A few things
to take note of before our course begins:
Sign up for Remind by texting either @eng2b1 (1st block)
or @b3eng2 (3rd block) to 81010 Parents are also
welcome to sign up!
Google Classroom will be used to house assignments,
handouts, hold discussions, etc. School email must be used to
join a class.
Class Code: j7wooe
ClassDojo will be used to monitor attendance and student
classroom behaviors, both positive and negative. You can
either download the app or go to the website,
www.classdojo.com. Parent invites will be sent home shortly.
You will need a NewsELA account to complete weekly online
articles and quizzes. You must use your school account to sign

Forms to Return
On the first day of class, two
forms will be given out for
guardians to fill out/sign.
Both will be attached to the
syllabus. One is a Guardian
Contact Log, the other is a
Plagiarism Policy Contract.
Both will need to be
returned to me no later than
the first Friday of class.

Quizlet is a website and app used for class vocabulary. All

vocabulary lists are housed on this website, and it also
contains study tools, such as flash cards and games, that can
be used to prepare for weekly quizzes. You may find these by
searching my account by username: jljoschak

Progress Reports
I send home progress reports every three weeks, in accordance
with school policy. Each progress report has a place for you to
sign and should be returned to me the next school day. This
semesters progress report dates are:
Thursday 2/16 | Wednesday 3/8 | Thursday 4/27 | Wednesday 5/17

Progress reports are also available upon request.

Social Media
We will incorporate fun, hands on activities in my classroom
that get students up, moving, and collaborating with each
other. From time to time, I will post pictures of our activities
on Instagram and Twitter. I will also post assignment
reminders and classroom updates. If youd like to stay up to

School Spirit & Athletics

Promoting school spirit is one of my favorite parts of being a
cheerleading coach! Please support our athletic programs and
