Experiment: Word orientation and memory task

Hypothesis: There is a significant difference between the vertical and horizontal


word orientation which can affect ones memory exhibited through recalling of
words.
IV: Word Orientation
Levels: Vertical Word Orientation and Horizontal Word Orientation
DV: Number of words that was recalled
Materials to be used:
A Laptop
A Projector
A PowerPoint presentation of the list
Yellow papers
Pens

Words are: mercy, wench, truce, sauce, abyss, crime, sugar, cigar, elbow, clock,
woman, arrow, plant, maker, stain, abode, folly, bosom, board, and pupil
Instruction: There will be 20 words that will be shown to you. Try to remember as
much as you can from the words. Please wait for the 20 th word to be shown before
you begin writing the words. You will be given 2 minutes to write the words that you
recalled. A paper and pen is provided on your desks.
Procedure:
The words are shown at 2 seconds interval.
The time limit is 2 minutes for them to recall the words.
