Traverse Assembly
Single Mount Traverses
Cantilevered single mount traverses are recommended for narrow
web presses up to a maximum length of 750 mm (30"). Standard
length traverses are designed to utilize the full zoom capacity of
the unit at the web edges.
Dual Mount Traverses
Dual mount traverses are used for medium and wide web presses
requiring a traverse length between 750 mm (30") and
2000 mm (80").

Synchronization
In order to synchronize the POWERScope 3000 with the running web, timing devices
are required. Besides the regular synchronization signals the POWERScope 3000
includes an input for an additional (optional) reset signal for optimum picture stabi-
lity.
System synchronization for gear driven presses
Systems installed on gear driven presses are
synchronized with a gear sensor scanning a
gear in the printing cylinder drive train.

System Options
Backstrobe assembly
A backstrobe assembly is used to visually
check the front to back print register
(FTBR) on translucent substrates by
illuminating the web from the opposite
web side.
Mounted opposite to the camera unit

System synchronization on presses
without gear drives
Systems installed at presses that do not
have gears to be scanned for
synchronization purposes (for example
servo driven cylinders or rotogravure
presses with line shaft) operate either with
rotary encoders or suitable electronic
signals provided by press controls.
In these cases please contact your local
BST representative for assistance.
BST offers a large variety of timing devices
including sensors for hazardous locations,
encoders, optical sensors etc. to fit all
needs. The system also supports various
signal interfaces like RS 422, 5 V, 12 V,
or 24 V open collector signals and more.
Customized brackets

mounting adapters for the installation of
the camera traverse assembly, controller
unit, monitor, etc. to the press.
