The God of This World

As preached by Paul Brake

We often talk about “God”. But what is God? The Word god means and
object of worship, and as such there are many, many gods. For some
people their car is a god, their wife is a god, the president of the United
States is a god. Who is our god?

The Bible talks of God. It talks of the great creator, the life giver, the
healer, the redeemer the one true God and eternal life. It also speaks
of another god. It speaks of another object of worship. This god,
however, is a deceitful, horrible, lying, murdering, evil god. It is the god
of this world and his name is Lucifer. The devil is the god of this world?
He absolutely is for a god is an object of worship and the devil is
worshipped by the entire world. Many will be very angry at me at this
point, but if you sit back and search the scriptures with me I believe I
can show you that what I say is true.

2 Corinthians 4: 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are

lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them
which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is
the image of God, should shine unto them.

May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of the Word.

The Bible is written in incredible simplicity. It is written to be

understood by all. God does not require an education, or great intellect
to understand his word. He requires only that you desire to know,
believe and follow the truth. But at the same time, the Bible is a great
mystery that cannot be figured out by the smartest of men. The
greatest scholars can look into the original transcripts, with great
knowledge of Greek, and Latin and Hebrew, and search the scriptures
day and night, and take notes and confer with others and in the end
know nothing. The greatest theologians of today all disagree with each
other and yet claim to be highly educated and experienced experts
with decades of study.

Paul was the most educated man in Israel in his day. He was known as
Saul of Tarsus. He was schooled by the greatest Bible teacher in Israel.
He knew the law and the prophets by heart. He knew every prophesy
of the messiah and yet he did not recognize him when he came. He
knew exactly what the scriptures said about the Messiah and he knew
all the prophecies concerning the church and yet when he saw the

church in action living out those prophesies he condemned them to die
as heretics.

The holy apostles, called before the foundation of the world to be the
first messengers of the gospel, sat under the teaching of John the
Baptist and missed that he was Elijah for their day. These were not just
the average guys on the street, they were the twelve Holy apostles.
They had knowledge of the Word. They witnessed John’s ministry. They
witnessed Jesus ministry even seeing John baptize Jesus. They heard
John say “I am the voice of one calling out in the wilderness”. They
came to Jesus with the word. Let us take the scripture on it:

Matthew 17: 10 And his disciples asked him, saying, why then say the
scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto
them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say
unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have
done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of
man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake
unto them of John the Baptist.

John preached to them and they knew him not. Jesus said that John
was more than a prophet and they could not even recognize that he
was a prophet. And the scribes, the theologians of the day, knowing
full well the scriptures and quoting it to the people, pointing to the
coming of Elijah and totally missing his appearance. Just thing about
that and what it means for us.

Does it sound crazy? Not only did they miss the Elijah ministry of their
day, but God himself was standing there in front of them in flesh,
fulfilling each and every prophesy of the Messiah recorded in the
scriptures, fulfilling each and every prophesy that they were pointing
to and quoting, and they had no idea who he was. The very God of
heaven was performing miracle after miracle after miracle right in front
of them and they were totally blind to it. Sounds crazy to us doesn’t it?
Not only was the world blind to the fact that Jesus was the Messiah,
they went so far as to call him the devil and then murder him. The
greatest, smartest, most educated theologians and Bible scholars were
completely blinded to the vindication of the very scriptures they
memorized and quoted daily.

But we also had a prophet in our day who had the manifestation of God
in his ministry even to the raising of the dead and speaking into
existence, a prophet who completely fulfilled the scriptural prophesy of
his ministry and the whole world missed it. If William Branham was not
Elijah, then who was? Answer me that.

The Bible says he must have already come, so if not William Marion
Branham then who was it? The Bible is clear. Malachi 4: 5-6 is clear.
Zechariah 14 is clear. Revelation 10:7 is clear. Amos 3:7 that God
would do nothing until he reveals it to his servant the prophet is clear.
The Bible clearly tells us that we were to be sent a prophet in our age
with the same ministry and spirit as Elijah to reveal the hidden
mysteries and restore us back to the word of God. Let’s read it.

Malachi 4: 5 Behold , I will send you Elijah the prophet before the
coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 and he shall turn
the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to
their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Elijah has to come before the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord”?
The day of Jesus on earth was not dreadful. Jesus on earth was mercy.
Jesus ministry on earth was salvation, healing and deliverance. So then
what is the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord?”

Zechariah 14: 1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and they spoil
shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations
against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
rifled, and the woman ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into
captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the
city. 3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as
when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that
day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,
and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the
east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and
half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it
toward the south. 5 and ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for
the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee,
like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of
Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6
and it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear,
nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not
day, nor night: in it shall come to pas that at evening time it shall be
light.

This is the judgment day, the return of Christ “with the saints”. And
before that can happen Elijah must come. Before Israel can be
encompassed by all nations, Elijah must have come. He comes again
the fifth time with Moses to Israel right away, and Israel is
encompassed about right now, so Elijah must have already come.
Somewhere at sometime in our recent past there must have been a
man, with a prophetic ministry, with a vindicate message from God.

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel,
when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished,
as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

What is the Mystery of God? There are many mysteries in the Bible.
There are many things that God told through his prophets that he kept
in symbolic form but told the prophets it would be sealed up till the
end times. For example, there are Daniels 70 weeks. There are the
seven seals. There are the seven church ages. There is the mark of the
beast, the great whore of Babylon, the identity of the Antichrist etc etc.
These are all great Mysteries. God gave us dozens of prophesies that
he told his prophets to seal up to the end of the age. They are now all
revealed. Every word in this Bible is now revealed for us.

So who was it? Who was Elijah? According to the Bible, and the events
happening in the world, Elijah must have already come. Elijah must
have fulfilled his ministry here on earth in our midst. Did you miss the
Elijah of your day as the apostles did in theirs? Do you know who Elijah
was?

The world always misses it. They missed Noah. They missed Moses.
They missed Elijah. They missed Jesus. They missed Luther. They
missed Wesley, they missed Azuza street. And they are missing Jesus
Christ even to this day. They are pointing to Jesus Christ in the
scripture, and failing to recognize him fulfilling that same scripture
today. Man is always pointing to what God did, talking about what God
will do, and completely ignoring what God is doing right in front of
them. Amen?

When Jesus was on earth in flesh, the religious people kept pointing
back to Abraham and Moses. When the very God of Abraham and
Moses, the great I AM, the pillar of fire, Elohim, Melchisedec, was
standing right before them in the flesh and they could not see who he
was. Do you see God this morning? Or do you only see him yesterday?
Do you see a current Jesus Christ or a historic one?

We sit back as “message people” in our vanity and think we got it all
figured out. We think we got the message, so we think. We believe we
had a prophet, and so we did. We look down on the denominations
because they miss it. And yet we tend to be just as blind as they are or
worse! How often do you hear preaching about what God did in the
prophet’s ministry as though it were happening today? That was over
50 years ago! What is God doing today? Yes he raised the dead 50
years ago, yes he healed the sick 50 years ago, but what is God doing
today in our lives, in our midst? Are we missing it? Are we pointing
back to yesterday and missing today? Is our testimony about the

power of God relegated to stories of God’s moving in the prophet’s
ministry? Have we any signs wonders and miracles today?

You cannot warm a man with a picture of a fire. You got to have the
real thing. You cannot save a man with a historical God. If Jesus Christ
cannot do the very same signs, wonders and miracles, right here and
right now that is written of him in the Bible, then he is useless to us.
But he is the same yesterday, today and forever. And every single
thing written of him in the Bible is just as true today as the day it was
written.

He was the healer then. He is the healer now. He was the saviour then.
He is the saviour this morning. He was the truth, the life and the way,
the bright morning star, the lily of the valley, the great I AM, the pillar
of fire, and he is exactly those things right here, right now. Are we
seeing it?

I spoke some time ago on “when their eyes were opened”. Our eyes
have to be opened to see the truth else we will miss it.

We can only understand the scriptures through revelation of the spirit

of God. You will never figure it out. You will never study your way into
heaven. You will never learn salvation. It comes purely and only by
revelation. Brother Jona preached to us last week on possessing Christ.
He told us how we need to seek, to knock, and to ask. If we do not seek
revelation on the word of God, and we do not wait for that revelation,
then we will never understand the word of God. If we do not wait on
God for an answer we will never know what the Bible is telling us. It will
look like complete contradiction to us.

How can the scripture on one hand tell us that Jesus Christ is the only
mediator between God and man, and in another scripture tell us that it
is the Holy Spirit that does the mediation? How can Jesus tell us to be
baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and Peter and Paul tell us to be baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ? Without revelation you will never understand it. How can the
Bible say that God hated Esau before he was even born and still be
fair?

You want to know what really happened in Eden? I can tell you but
without revelation you will not believe me. You want to know the
mystery of the Godhead? I can explain it to you but God has to reveal
it for you to get it. A while ago we looked at the book of Ruth. To the
world it is just a story of a woman and her daughter in law going home
to Israel and getting their land back. But with the revelation of the Holy

Spirit we see that the book of Ruth depicts God’s entire plan of
salvation for both Jews and gentiles.

The reason we have so many churches all preaching differently is that

there is no revelation. They interpret the word by their own
understanding and according to the desires and lusts of their flesh.
When we decide ahead of time what the Bible says, then we look for
scriptures that we can “interpret” to agree with us and deny and
explain away the rest of the Bible that doesn’t.

Today we are preaching the message of the hour. We are preaching

what the prophet preached, the unadulterated, revealed word of God
for the hour. But we do not have the moving of God as the prophet did.
If we get sick, a little pain here or there, the first thing we do is run to
the doctor. Why is it so? Where are we at?

Matthew 23: 2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’
seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that obey and
do; but do not ye after their works: for they sway and do not. 4 For
they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on
men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of
their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: them
make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their
garments, 6 and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief
seats in the synagogues.

Does this sound familiar to you? Have you seen it in churches around
you, possibly ones you attend? So why is that? So why is there no
revelation among the so called Christians? Why do we not see the
simple truth that we are preaching? Why does the religious world miss
the truth, and so many of those who are preached the truth not live it.
Why the gross blindness? Why the hypocrisy?

There are two forces at work in this world. They are fighting a war that
started a very long time ago. One is the creator and the other is the
destroyer. One gives life and the other takes it. One is the God of
heaven, the other it the god of this world. We will serve one or the
other. The only way to overcome the devil is through Jesus Christ. A
church cannot save you. Good works cannot save you. Only the
indwelling of the Holy Spirit which comes through the new birth can
overcome the devil.

1 John 4: 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:

because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They
are of the world: therefore they speak of the world, and the world
heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he

that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth,
and the spirit of error.

If we are overcomers then it is only through Jesus Christ living in us

that we are. The world do not overcome. The world refuses to hear the
gospel. Notice there is no third position. We either worship and serve
Jesus Christ, or we worship and serve Satan. These are hard words but
true. There are only two controlling spirits, good and bad, dark and
light, life and death, there is heaven and hell, but there is no third
option. Here is another scripture to show you.

Romans 6: 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants

to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether sin unto death,
or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye
were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form
of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being made free from sin, ye
became the servants of righteousness.

It is unmistakable. Every person who is not born again of the Holy

Spirit is serving the devil. For even those who are born of the Spirit of
God used to serve the devil prior to the new birth. It says so clearly in
the above scripture. We “were” the servants of sin until we received
and obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ. Notice here to that Paul uses
the personal pronoun “whom”. It is not what you obey, as an inanimate
thing, but rather “whom” as a person. We either serve and obey Jesus
Christ through the faith and obedience to the Word of God, or we serve
and worship Satan through disbelief and disobedience to the Word of
God.

And that is the test. Do we accept, believe and obey the Word of God
exactly as it is written or do we add, subtract and mutilate the written
word to try to bend it to fit our own desires? When the Bible says to be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, do we immediately seek water
and get baptized, or do we say the wording is not important as long as
we are baptized? When the Bible says that we must have foot washing
with the Lord’s Supper do we wash each other’s feet, or do we say “oh,
that was because they wore sandals back then”? Do we accept the
Word of God or reject Jesus Christ in favour of our church’s dogmas
and creeds? Do we worship Jesus Christ or Satan?

God spent 6 days, or 6 - 1000 year periods building Eden. The devil has
spent the last 6000 years building his Eden. We are living today in
Satan’s Eden. Let that sink in. He is ready to incarnate himself as the
antichrist and dwell amongst his children in his paradise. Before he can
do that, the Holy Spirit must vacate the gentile world. The only

presence of God in this world is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in his
born again children.

While God is still dealing with the gentiles, the devil cannot take his
position. Once the last of God’s predestinated sheep is in the fold, then
God takes his bride home and leaves the world to the devil and his
children.

Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of

his mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that
blindness in part is happened to Israel, unto the fullness of the Gentiles
come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall
come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from
Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant to them, when I shall take away their
sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but
as touching the election, they are beloved for the Father’s sakes. 29 For
the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

During that time of three and a half years God will only be dealing with
the 144,000 predestinated seed in Israel. The plagues will be striking
the rest of the earth but the only voice of God will be in the two
prophets preaching to Israel. Without God in this world, the foolish
virgins will have no protection and will be mercilessly slaughtered by
the world. The religious world will gather and kill the foolish virgins and
think that they are doing God a service. They will be serving the god of
this world, the devil, and thinking they are serving the Living God.
Jesus said it would be so. Get in Christ today!

Satan is the god of this world, and the god of this evil age. Today what
is evil is called good, what is good is called evil. Speak one word
against homosexuality or abortion and see for yourself. Speak in favour
of Israel one time and see how they react. Tell them that the Bible
forbids women preachers or that Jesus said in Luke that all remarriage
outside of widowhood is adultery. Tell a religious person that they need
to be rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins
and watch how they react. Apollos who was originally baptized by John
the Baptist, in Acts 19, took his entire congregation and got rebaptized
in the name of Jesus Christ. Will you go find water and get baptized
properly? Every predestinated seed of God will.

The devil appeals to the desires of our flesh. His doctrines feel good to
us and are logical and make sense. The doctrine of the devil will never
convict us of sin. The doctrine of the devil will tell us that we are saved
when we are not saved. The doctrine of the devil will never correct
you, it will never point you back to the word of God but instead will
interpret it to you in a way that will make your flesh feel good. The

devil will tell you that God loves you just as you are and you do not
need to change.

How evil is the world?

1 John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the
world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 and the
world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of
God abideth forever.

The things of the world are not of the Father, they are of the god of this
world. Worldliness is of the devil. If we love the world’s fashions then
we love Satan’s fashions. If we love worldy music then we love Satan’s
music. If we love worldly politics, society, religion, philosophy, ideology
etc, then we love the devil’s stuff. If we love the things of the world,
then we love the things of the devil, and therefore we actually love the
devil! I’ll let that sink in. If we love the things of the world, then we
love the devil. Amen? Hold on it gets a little sharper yet. Is all the
world ruled by him?

Luke 4: 5 And, the devil taking him up into a high mountain, and
showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time; 6
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the
glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I
give it. 7 if thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Do you still wonder why politics is so corrupt? The devil chooses who is
in charge in the world. The Bible says so. That is why you won’t find a
Christian in politics. You will find many who call themselves Christians
but a real Christian stays away. Look to the Bible. Look at Abraham and
Lot. Abraham stayed to his own while Lot went down into Sodom and
got himself elected into some government position, possibly even the
mayor of Sodom for it says he sat at the gates judging the people. Who
do you associate yourself with, Abraham the father of faith, or Lot. Are
you of the World?

Who is your father? There are two gods, two fathers, two seeds. Are we
of God, or of the wicked one? Do we see the gospel or is it hid to us?
Are we of God or of the World?

When we cannot see the gospel, when we do not understand the

revealed word of God for the hour, it is because the devil is blinding
our minds to it. In Luther’s day the devil blinded people’s minds to
Luther’s message and they rejected both him and his message. That

message came from God so when they rejected Luther, they rejected
God. In Noah’s day they rejected Noah’s message because the god of
this world blinded their minds to it. And every one of them is dead,
eternally separated from God.

And how did the devil blind their minds to Noah’s message? What trick
did he use? He used logic, reasoning, science, philosophy and religion.
Those are the tricks he has always used and will always use. It did not
make sense that it would rain since at that time no rain fell. It did not
rain before the flood. Science tells you right now that what I just told
you is impossible but if you look into the scripture you will see that the
original year had 360 days and today we have 365 ¼ days, and the 23
degree tilt did not exist then either. So the whole planet was in a
different orbit than it is today. Whatever caused the flood knocked the
whole planet out of alignment. The little earthquake that caused the
Indonesian tsunami a few years back actually changed the length of
the day.

When Noah, in an age with all the science we have today and maybe a
wee bit more, came preaching that God would destroy the earth with a
flood caused by rain from the sky, it was easy for the devil to use
reasoning, logic and science to blind the minds of the whole world to
the truth. It had never rained, thus it could not rain. Simple logic tells
you that. But they did not take everything into consideration. God said
it would happen and it happened. Today we are told that the earth is
reserved unto fire where the very elements will melt with a fervent
heat. Do you believe it?

When Jesus came, how did the devil blind the minds of the people to
who Jesus really was?

Mark 6: And he went out from thence, and came into his own country;
and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the Sabbath day was come, he
began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were
astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? And
what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty
works are wrought by his hands 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of
Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon? And
are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But
Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honour, but in his own
country, and among his own kin, an din his own house. 5 and he could
there do no might work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick
folk, and healed them.

The devil used reasoning and logic. They knew Jesus as a man and
could not see that he was God. Even though he had amazing wisdom

and worked signs and wonders, carnal reasoning told them that he was
just a carpenter. Why would God choose him when he has a hundreds
of priests and rabbis to use? It is the same today.

Why would God use a little corner church when he can use a big
organization? A little church on the corner can only reach a handful of
people but a big organized church can reach out to hundreds,
thousand and even millions. Why would God choose an uneducated
hillbilly when he has thousand of educated, theologians with Phd’s to
their names and huge organizations backing them? Surely a logical
God would use the big church. If a church has lots of members and lots
of money, that must mean that they are right in their teaching and God
is blessing them, right?

Who did God choose to forerun the first coming of Jesus Christ? He
chose a man who was orphaned into the wilderness at the age of 12
and grew up on a diet of locusts and honey. Who crucified Jesus? The
big organizations with lots of members and lots of money did it. What
denomination was Jesus a member of? The denominations kicked him
out and killed him. And yet today if you don’t have a university degree
and a letter and membership card from a big organization nobody will
hear you. That is the world in a nutshell.

St. John 15: 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before
it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own:
but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the
world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I
said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If hey have
persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my
saying, they will keep your also. 21 But all these things will they do
unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent
me.

The world is of the devil for he is their god. He rules their politics, he
rules their religion, he rules their fashion, he rules their entertainment.
Logic, reasoning and blindness are the devils handiwork and he always
plays to the lust of the flesh and the pride of the eye. And the Bible
says in our age it would be the darkest blindest age of all.

Isaiah 60: 2 For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross
darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee and his glory
shall be seen upon thee.

Not just a darkness but a gross darkness on the people. The devil has
been more successful at blinding the hearts and minds of people in this
age than in any other age before. In this age alone do we have the

entire Bible revealed and in this age we have the most darkness as
well. So much so that this is the only age in which we are told we are
completely blind as a church. This is the age where we are warned that
the devil would be so convincing that he would fool the very elect if it
were possible.

Revelation 3: 14 And unto the angel of the church of Laodiceans write;

These things sith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the
beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art
neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because
thour art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my
mouth. 17 Because thou sayest I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou are wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy
of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white
raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy
nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that
thou mayest see.

This is Jesus talking here. He is not addressing the world, he is

addressing the church. This letter is directed at the Bride of Christ. This
is the condition of the spirit filled church today. The world is in far
worse condition. The church today is blind. The church today is naked.
We think we got it all and we got nothing. He is counseling us. Get
treasures in heaven. Get white raiment. Get eyesalve. The church
today is blind and it is the god of the world who has blinded them.

Look at your life. How are you living? Are you living the message or has
the things of the world crept in to your life? Are you a walking Bible to
every person you meet? Do we really see, understand, believe and
obey this message? Are we living this message every day in our lives
or is it a story of 50 years ago? Is God in our lives in the same way he
was in the book of Acts? Are the signs, wonders and miracles following
us? Have we met him personally?

Or is the gospel hid to us? Is the Bible an open book to us, or is it a

book of riddles that must be “interpreted” by our denomination, our
theologian, our pope etc. There are very many who will never see it no
matter how long it is preached. Jesus said that there would only be a
few that would see it, the rest would be blinded to it.

But the god of this world is subtle. He does not come with a pitch fork
and a horse tail. When he comes to deceive the elect, he comes
preaching the message of the hour. I have seen it where a man came
and preached perfectly on the word for two straight hours, got the
crowd excited, subtly slipped in his own personal heresy, and then

went back to preaching perfectly for another hour. And the crowd all
said Amen and missed it. They were not paying attention and accepted
a false doctrine with no basis in the Word of God.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall
show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

The word “Christ” means anointed. So a False Christ is a False

anointed one. They truly are anointed but are not doing the works of
God. Balaam was such a one. He was an anointed prophet. He
prophesied with “thus saith the Lord”. When he went to curse Israel, he
had to bless them because he was a prophet under an anointing and
could only say the words God put in his mouth. But when he was not
prophesying he brought in his damnable heresy that almost ended the
nation of Israel. The high priest in Jesus day prophesied under an
anointing because of his position. Jesus said that he was a child of his
father the devil and yet he still prophesied under the anointing of the
Holy Spirit.

I encourage everyone to listen to Brother Branham’s sermon “False

anointed at the endtime”; that is your homework. Give it a good listen,
it will help you understand that paradox. Also check out the sermons
“Satan’s Eden” and “the God of this Evil Age”.

The false annointed come so close as to deceive the elect. So they

must be message preachers! A catholic priest with a turned around
collar is never going to deceive you, but someone who can quote the
message like a machine gun is another story. And they will use the
same doctrine of Balaam to blind the hearts and minds of the people.
Look who God likens them to.

Jude 1: 11 Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and
ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the
gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when
they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are
without water, carried aobut of winds: trees whose fruit withereth,
without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of
the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is
reseved the blackness of darkness forever. 14 And Enoch also, the
seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord
cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon
all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their
ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their
hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and

their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in
admiration because of advantage.

Cain, Balaam, Core; these were all false anointed of their day. These
were all claiming to be believers. They were not the heathen. Balaam a
prophet, lost because of his greed for money and power and
popularity. Cain had the biggest most beautiful church and was
murderously jealous of Abel’s little alter because God was with Abel
and that condemned Cain. Core, what a scoundrel he was. God opened
the very earth to devour him. He was after money and power.

They all did the same thing. They all had a big ecclesiastical move to
gather people to them, to earn power, and popularity and money. They
all pretended to be believers yet did not believe.

Numbers 16:2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the
children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly,
famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3 And they gathered
themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto
them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are
holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then
lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the lord?

Core was after power and accused Moses of doing the very thing that
he himself was guilty of. He gathered all the popular men of his day
together of a big ecclesiastical convention and rose up against the
prophet that God sent. Core took 250 souls with him to his death.

Balaam told the Moabites to get their girls to fellowship with the
Israelite boys saying that we are all “Christians” as we would say
today. That led Israel off into idolatry. That cost Israel 24,000 lives. And
it would have been far worse if a man, a boy actually named Phinehas,
had not stepped in. He came from good stock, the son of Eleazar, the
son of Aaron. He stepped in when he saw the evil that was afoot. He
could not take it anymore, it vexed his soul and he acted and God was
pleased with him.

We need more Phinehas’s today! We need someone to step in and act

to correct the wrong. We need men with spines to stand upon the
Word of God and call black, black and white, white and to condemn sin
from pillar to post. We have too many wishy washy pretenders looking
for money, power and glory in the pulpits today.

The devil blinded the eyes of the people to the message of their hour
and he did it with religion, with popularity, with money, with reason,
with logic, with a private interpretation of the word of God that does

not line up with the word of God. He came in Moses day with the
prophet’s own message to the believers and peeled off 250 preachers
with him. They all burned incense. And the numbers were low because
God put a quick stop to it. If God would have let Core go he would have
drawn half of Israel along to hell with him.

What about today? How many are being drawn off with the doctrine of
Balaam? How many blinded by the gainsaying of Core? How many
false prophets and false anointed looking to get rich off the people do
we have today? How many having itching ears do we have behind the
pulpits? Tell the people what they want to hear, please their flesh and
they will fill the seats, and empty your wallet.

Just ask yourself, if there are so few being raptured, then why are there
so many in churches? The god of this world has blinded their minds
and they can no longer see the truth! They will believe any lie they are
fed.

2 Thessalonians 2: 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom

the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy
with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after
the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10
and with all deceivable ness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be
saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that
they should believe a lie.

If we do not love the truth, we will get to the point where we cannot
believe it, or even see it anymore, and we will believe the devil’s lies
as gospel. Once the devil has blinded our minds to the truth, we are
under a strong delusion and will believe a total fabrication, a total lie.
That is why we have over 1,100 “churches” all preaching out of the
same book and all preaching different. We have every form of insanity
being preached and the people are gobbling it up. There are
“churches” preaching that there is no devil, they baptize in titles
instead of the name of Jesus Christ, they don’t believe in the rapture,
they don’t believe in the gifts, they put up Xmas tress, they have
women preachers, they marry homosexuals and divorced people, and
the list goes on and on.

The word of God is sure. There is no room for argument. But our flesh
does not like it and if we fail to crucify our flesh then we will turn from
the Word of God and accept the dogmas and creeds of men and
believe the lies to be the truth.

2 Timothy 4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Fables instead of the Word of God. The whole protestant world is

wrapped up in the World Counsel of Churches, the image of the beast,
and has denied the Word of God. They have pushed out Jesus Christ in
favour of man made dogma. Twice dead plucked up by the roots. They
cannot endure the preaching of the Word of God because it condemns
their worldly, ungodly lives. So instead of repenting and accepting the
Word of God they reject the Word of God and heap to themselves
preachers who will not scold them, preachers who will not correct
them, preachers who will not strike against their ungodliness from the
pulpit. They will find preachers who will not cry out for the
abominations in the city. And by turning away from the word they will
receive a strong delusion so that they will believe the lies that come
from the liars they put in the pulpits.

The liars will tell them that they are saved when they are hopelessly
lost and the people will rejoice to hear it. They will compromise on the
Word of God and the people will say amen to it. They will turn the
services into Hollywood extravaganzas award winning performances
and the song services into rock concerts and the people will clap their
hands and rejoice.

And in the message churches we are seeing the same thing happen,
but it must happen for the word said it would happen.

2 Thessalonians 2: 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that

day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that
man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 4 Who opposeth and
exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so
that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.

Now that is the antichrist, who we now know is the pope. But that is for
another sermon. But the scripture says that there must be a falling
away first. In order to fall away we have to have something to fall away
from. If we are following a lie to begin with then we have nothing to fall
away from. So it is not a falling away from religion but a falling away
from the vindicated message of the hour. And from the scriptures we
can also see that the falling away will be so close as to deceive the
elect of God if it were possible.

It is true that some will fall away to denomonationalism and become

beast worshippers. That is surely happening. But there is also a falling

away to the doctrine of Balaam and the gainsaying of Core while still
giving homage to the Revealed Word of God. And that is the most
dangerous of all. The god of this world is managing to blind the minds
of the foolish virgins just enough to keep them from receiving the Holy
Spirit. And he does it through the same means as he has always used.
He will us logic, reasoning, religion, popularity, politics, money, power
etc. He will use an ecclesiastical move like Core to round up all the
believers on his side. He will promote cross fellowship and gather the
sheep, or steel sheep, from other churches and play on their lusts to
get them away from the word. And they will fleece them for every dime
in their pockets.

The god of this world has an agenda. He wants you dead, both
physically and spiritually. He will tempt you, con you, lie to you,
confuse you, torment you, condemn you, persecute you and do
anything and everything to get you off of the Word of God.

First he will butter you up and tell you how wonderful you are, how
holy, how spiritual. He will play straight to your pride. Then he will
bring the Word to you and try to interpret it to you. He will make it look
so beautiful. He will make it look so glamorous. He will make it look so
reasonable and logical. He will appeal to your every carnal sense and
to your every fleshly lust. He will bring his lie in such a way that it will
sound perfect to your flesh. The devil’s lie will meet every fleshly
desire you have. Then he will try to get you to compromise on the
Word, to admit there is some merit in what he is saying. Then he will
attack you and demoralize you. He is a killer. He is a destroyer. He is a
liar and a murderer, and the father of it all.

The only escape is the Word. The Bible promises us that if we resist the
devil and he shall flee from us. He is a bluffer. He was defeated at
Calvary 2000 years ago. Jesus Christ defeated him, took his authority
away, paid the price for our every sin, cleansed our iniquities and
healed all of our diseases. Satan has no power over you except the
power that you give him. Resist him. Reject him. Take the word no
matter how hard it is for it will cleanse you and give you eternal life.
Don’t look at physical evidence, look at the promised Word of God.
Abraham did not look at his old age or his withered wife, he looked at
God’s promise and believed and received a son at the age of 100 with
his 90 year old wife. Noah did not look at science but trusted God’s
promise of rain and spent 120 years building and ark and preaching
that it would rain when science told him it could not.

Isaiah told us that we would be in a state of gross darkness, but in the

evening there would be light. Walk in that light while it is still shining
for one day very soon there will be absolutely no light left for the

gentiles. A day is fast approaching when it will simply be too late. Are
you in Christ Jesus this morning? Have you been closing your eyes to
the truth? Have you been led away with religion, politics, reason, logic,
glamour, popularity, money? Are you feeding your flesh or your soul?
Are you eating the fresh manna?

The devil is defeated. He is exposed. The light that shines from Jesus
Christ casts out all darkness. Don’t let the devil blind your minds any
longer. Don’t let the gospel be hid to you. Cry out to God for revelation.
God is calling the bride to repentance! Repent and live the message.
Do what the word tells you to do. If it says repent and be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, then do it, do it
today for tomorrow may be too late. Whatever the word says, do it.

Don’t trust in numbers. Don’t trust in man. Don’t trust in organization.

Trust only in Jesus Christ. Do not let the god of this world blind your
eyes to the truth. Satan is the god of this world and the whole world
worships and adores him and does not even know it; they are blind.
The world is blind. The denominations are blind. Satan is the god of
this world.

Revelation 13: 8 And ALL that dwell upon the earth shall worship
him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain
from the foundation of the world.
