DS 2004-01 GENERAL
Determine final loads of utilities, and advise owner if any of these loads exceed the values given in the design
conditions x
Convenience outlets and welding terminal boxes shall be provided. x
HAZOP review shall be conducted. x x

APPLICABLE SECTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS OF REFINERY INSTR AIR SYSTEM (Inclusion of C-1005A/B)

SEC 5 INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROL VALVES

Assume spare terminals at Junction Boxes, Marshalling Cabinets and spare I/O points at existing I/O cards x
Metering of all instr air from C-1005 and C-1006 will be modified by Contractor. x x x
DCS graphics of C-1005 and C-1006 will be modified by Contractor. x
New FI-1036 shall be provided to indicate the air supply from C-1005A/B x x x
New PI-1036 shall be provided for pressure measurement at D-1036. This shall be configured with a low
pressure alarm in case of compr failure and high press alarm in case a portable air compr is used x x x
New local pressure gauge PI-1096 shall be provided as countercheck of the DCS reading. x x x
New PSV-1036 shall be provided x x
New FI-1097 will be installed at existing pipe. Contractor to check upstream and downstream length
requirements. Modify existing piping or provide appropriate meter run. x x x

SEC 6 PROCESS VESSELS

New driers, DR-1010A/B, shall be installed to supply instr quality compressed air. It shall service all new units
(LVN, OAP, GOHT) & OM&S. x x x x x
To specify drier size. Shall be designed to allow for thermal expansion and shock as a result of possible
compressor aftercooler failure x x
Two instr air drier packages shall be able to continuously supply air at the max req't with one drier out of
service x x
The vendor shall furnish all instr and other accessories of DR-1010A/B for safe and proper operation x x
The instr air requirement of the diff process units were reallocated and distributed between two instr air
sources and header (see table given) x x
It is preferred that air dryers are skid mounted. x x
Dryers should be designed for automatic regeneration system, with electric heating. x
New MCCs and new breakers will be provided for the new Air Dryers. x
Air filter (perfilter and afterfilter) should be supplied as part of the air dryer package. x
Switchover from one dryer to another shall be indicated in the DCS. x x

New Air receiver D-1036 shall service C-1005A/B. x x x x

To specify air receiver size. Shall be designed to allow for thermal expansion and shock as a result of possible
compressor aftercooler failure x x
The vendor shall furnish all instr and other accessories of D-1036 for safe and proper operation x x x
Locally fabricated air receiver is acceptable but design and fabrication shall be in accordance shall be in
accordance with ASME. ASME stamp is not required. x

SEC 8 SAFETY FACILITIES

Pressure Relief valves shall be equivalent to Crosby JR series x x
In areas, where new chemical handling/storage facilities are to be installed, an emergency eye wash/shower
shall be provided by Contractor. x x

SEC 9 PIPING, VALVES AND FLANGES

Contractor shall be responsible for the removal of existing excess piping during implementation of the revamp
work x x
C-1004 shall be demolished to allow for D-1036 air receiver x x x
Miscellaneous piping modifications to reallocate instrument air users between C-1006A/B + C-1005A/B x
The piping modifications required are shown in BR-10-2-P012/3. x
Detailed tie-in isometrics and piping design shall be developed. x x
Tie-in at Instrument Air Header shall be Hot Tapping. x
