BLOCK A and B
Name of Professor: Prof. Casis

Preferred topics:
Negligence and Standard of Conduct
Special Circumstances/Children/Experts
Presumptions and Defenses
Causation
Vicarious and Specific Liability
Human Relations Torts

Tips on styles and methodologies of questioning:

His questions are hardly ever straightforward as he likes to mix up different
topics and even uses the names of characters from various cases (as well as pop
culture).
For problems given in class, he usually uses similar situations and tweaks the
facts. Analyze the questions carefully and if he gives a problem/scenario
comparable to a particular case, distinguish the case from the given situation.
The wording of the question is important. Sometimes it would seem as though he
is asking something but upon a closer reading of the problem, the question is
entirely different. Always answer his question first before explaining the rule or
ratio behind it. (Ex: Tom accidentally cut Jerrys ear while he was cutting the
latters hair. Is Tom liable? Ans: YES or NO first, Tom is/is not liable. Insert ratio.
Note that the question was on liability and not negligence.)
Be mindful of the doctrines he mentioned in class that should never be cited
because they are wrong. Some of the cases that he assigned were discussed for the
purpose of pointing out what not to do or why a specific doctrine was not applied
correctly.

What to expect and prepare for:

His questions will probably involve analysis-- unlikely to ask for requisites, etc
It would be of great help to start highlighting his book for those who haven't, as
well as write notes on the pages. Given that the exam is open book, it would be
much faster to spot the things that you need if the are highlighted or noted down.
Take note that post-its are NOT allowed.
