Duct, chute, dedusting pipe: Refers to type of the expansion joint required.
Dimensions: Dimensions as given by plant layout.
GA plan no.: General arrangement plan number, where the given expansion
joint can be found.
Temp [C]: Temperature value from the flow sheet.
Pressure [kPa]: Pressure value from the flow sheet.
Axial movement [mm]: Calculated axial movement given in mm.
Lateral movement [mm]: Calculated lateral movement given in mm.
H erection measure [mm]: Calculated height of expansion joint.
Drawing model: Refer to model type of the expansion joint (see appendices).
Page no.: Refer to which page number to find the drawing for the

Remarks: If special conditions or comments are required for the
expansion joint.

Flanges: Flanges are only standard for explosion shock resistant

expansion joints, and for expansion joints lined with refractory
lining.
All other expansion joints will be supplied without flanges.
Expansion joints will only be supplied with flanges if required
by contract.

Erector's note:
Normal erection operations include the correction of minor misfits by moderate amounts of
straightening, shimming, reaming, chipping, cutting or grinding and the drawing of elements
into line through the use of drift pins. Misfits which cannot be corrected by the foregoing means
or which require major changes in equipment configuration are to be reported immediately to
the supplier by the erector, to enable the supplier either to correct the misfit or to approve the
most efficient and economic method of correction to be implemented.
