ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

LFE is actually a research work and development work on different fields.

Our project was about a rural village of Bangladesh,(IUB) for offering such a wonderful
and unique course. Through this course we gather a lot of experience about rural
market. This LFE program has shown us something, which we havent seen. As all of
the members of our group are from every school, we found it more interesting in the
field while working.

We express our honest gratitude to our teachers Mr. Ahmed Shahnewaj

Chowdhury, Mohammad Manzur Sharif Sayeem and Mr. Mahfuzul Islam for their
restless guidance in the field. Our special thanks go to our teachers Asst. Prof. Talim
Hossain for educating us on various aspects of LFE.

We also owe many thanks Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB)

Staffs, the most hospitable people. Without the constant help and guidance of our
assigned LFE monitors, the study would not have been this thorough. We are really
grateful to them.

Last but not the least, our honest gratitude goes to the inhabitants of Khushir Gul
people for their warm and hospitable treatment. Without their enthusiastic cooperation,
it was not possible to make the study successful.
Executive Summary

This years Live-in-field (LFE) program was based on the census data collection of a
particular designated village by following paper base survey and the analysis of the
social change process, wealth ranking and resource mapping, and household and
gender roles.

We all belong to different pursuits other than social science and it was a little difficult
for us initially to think about the strategies of conducting such a social research. But
we were given classes at IUB before we actually went into the designated area of our
research. There, the faculty members of IUB on different aspects of conducting such
a research briefed us. At FIVDB we were further instructed by their members on the
techniques to be applied and the approach that we were to take. With these
instructions, a teacher with a guide, to help us collect the relevant data.

We found out that, to make a better analysis, it would be useful to collect some
additional data. 08 days we spent into the field collecting data from the villagers for the
ten household of our report.

Finally, we like to point out that, although we were a group of rather inexperienced
social researchers, the report we have finally generated will enlighten the issues
related in, generally speaking, most villages of Bangladesh and hopefully this research
will help future researchers in their conduct of their research
