Nothing irritates me more than to be given half-truths and then be expected to make an informed

decision on what I believe. The FFWP calls their timeline “abbreviated”, and that is the truth.
Why make a decision based on an abbreviated timeline because it has the “seal of approval”?
To counter this trend, I have compiled a time line that adds information to the “official
abbreviated timeline” put out by the FFWP here:

An Abbreviated Chronology of Recent Events

| 29 June 2010
http://www.familyfed.org/members/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2162:an-abbreviated-
chronology-of-recent-events&catid=68:others&Itemid=415

The original FFWP timeline is in italics in this document. The additional information is linked with
the readily available public sources put on blogs and on “Facebook”. I have tried to provide all the
links for the information here, so you can click, read in the full context and decide if they are used
appropriately here or not. My comments are in Arial font, bold face, nine point like this one is so
that you can separate what I think from what has been said by others. I asked questions that I would
like answered five times. I am on no one’s payroll, attend no service at the moment, and have no
interest in “either” side being more right or more “principled”. I don’t have any official stamp, nor
would I ever want to suggest that I have the one and complete view for you to adopt. I don’t even
know why I feel compelled to compile this information other than it irritates me to see one-sided
information. I am a researcher who wants more information before I form my own conclusions to
what I believe. I have included issues during this time that surround the True Family for context, not
just issues relating to Hyun Jin directly. If you find my information incomplete or inaccurate, don’t
come back to me with questions, as I don’t have any more information that I have put here. YOU do
your homework as I tried to do, ask and demand answers to people who have the answers and put
out a revised timeline of your own. I will read it and do what I suggest you do to this one.

If after reading this, you are no longer sure, are confused or can see both sides, then I have done my
job in writing this all out for you. I suggest that you copy this to MS word, edit out my comments and
questions, use the brain God gave you to fill in your own questions, comments and conclusions,
and ask people and search for answers where there is incomplete, inaccurate or missing
information. Get off your mental rear end, especially if you are giving your life, time, money and
children to the organization and start demanding truth, wherever it might lead you.

REVISED TIMELINE NUMBER ONE

YEAR 2000

In October of 2000, Father, hoping to solve the issue of world hunger, purchased 60,000 hectares
of land in Casado and entrusted it to Mr. K, who was in charge of the business in South America
at that time. However, this land entailed a number of problems from the start, including the
extreme leftist group called Pro-Tierra, which was supported by a socialistic labor party P-MAS
(Partido del Movimiento al Socialismo,) and local people were also prone to be influenced by
them. http://www.unification.net/nikolaus.beutl/20100610.html

YEAR 2001

In 2001, Japanese leaders gave a report to Hyun Jin Nim regarding the current situation of
Japan, and it revealed frauds that had been committed by the hands of a few foreign leaders.
Those leaders had embezzled the money from the members, which they used to buy houses and
invest in their own businesses. When people criticized Hyun Jin Nim in a church leaders’ meeting
in February, he said, “I saw the enormous suffering in Japan. This is blood money.” However, it
was those leaders who had taken this blood money, not Hyun Jin Nim.

After thorough research, Hyun Jin Nim instructed Rev. Y, who was in charge of Japan at that
time, to correct those misconducts. However, Rev. Y instead accused Hyun Jin Nim in front of
True Father, claiming that Hyun Jin Nim was making those leaders suffer. This enraged Father,
and Hyun Jin Nim was banned from all public activities.
http://www.unification.net/nikolaus.beutl/20100610.html

YEAR 2002
In 2002, Father ordered Hyun Jin Nim to conduct a reform in Washington DC. In order to support
the Washington Times and other entities, UCI has invested a large sum of money every month
and tried to save the boat business that was not making a profit. This time, Mr. S, who was in
charge of the boat business, reported to Father that Hyun Jin Nim was trying to close the
business down. Hyun Jin Nim was severely scolded by Father in front of the members, and he
was banned from public activities again.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- United Press International announced Wednesday that Dr.
Chung Hwan Kwak has been named chairman, chief executive officer and president of the 95-
year-old news service. Kwak's appointment by the UPI board of directors, effective Thursday,
follows the resignation of Douglas D.M. Joo, who is leaving UPI but will remain as president of
News World Communications Inc., the parent corporation of UPI, The Washington Times, Insight,
the World and I magazine, Tiempos del Mundo and several other publications.

YEAR 2005
In Jin issues an appeal to members for money to pay off debts so that the Korean government can
release Col. Pak, her father-in-law, from prison.

My father is a noble man, despite the fact that his inaction makes him look like a heartless leader.
A king is only as good as the advisers with whom he surrounds himself and my father is no
exception. He is making the best decision with the reports and advice that are made available to
him by current leaders.

YEAR 2006

Biden, also a Washington lobbyist, took control of Paradigm in August 2006 and was, for a brief
period, its president - getting paid $1.2 million a year despite no experience in the sector,
according to charges in one of the suits. It was in the Lotito suit that Hunter Biden took a swipe at
[James] Park. Biden, in a counter-claim against Lotito, charged the consultant with failing to
inform him that Park had a drug problem. Park, a Paradigm founder and chief investment officer,
"used illegal substances on a regular basis," and was an "absentee manager," it is alleged in
court papers. The Washington lobbyist also claimed in court papers that he and his uncle only
agreed to work with Park after "[Park] completed rehabilitation in Florida."

South America
Father had put Hyun Jin Nim in charge of North and South America in 2006. After that, Mr. Ota,
then CEO, and Mr. Moon, Korean National Messiahs of Paraguay, had asked Hyun Jin Nim’s aid
in resolving the issues. http://www.unification.net/nikolaus.beutl/20100610.html
Washington Times
A nasty succession battle is now heating up at the paper, punctuated by allegations of racism,
sexism and unprofessional conduct, that has implications far beyond its fractious newsroom.
According to several reliable inside sources, Preston Moon, the youngest son of Korean
Unification Church leader and Times financier Sun Myung Moon, has initiated a search
committee to find a replacement for editor in chief Wesley Pruden—a replacement who is not
Pruden’s handpicked successor, managing editor Francis Coombs. Preston Moon wants to wrest
control of the paper from Pruden and Coombs, according to a Times senior staffer, in order to
shift the paper away from their brand of conservatism, which is characterized by extreme racial
animus and connections to nativist and neo-Confederate organizations. A Harvard MBA, Preston
Moon is said to be seeking to install an editorial regime with more widely palatable politics

Both Coombs and Pruden, meanwhile, are facing a litany of complaints from former and current
colleagues of racism and sexual harassment. More than a dozen well-placed sources spoke to
The Nation. Many wished to remain anonymous, for fear of jeopardizing their jobs. Others spoke
on the record. But the sources are consistent about the atmosphere Pruden and Coombs have
fostered inside the paper, which they describe as profoundly demeaning and abusive to women
and minorities. Preston Moon has hired the powerhouse Washington law firm Nixon Peabody to
interview Times staffers about the allegations of racism and sexism.

Pruden and Coombs have stonewalled Preston Moon’s investigation and threatened to hold a
public news conference, during which they would denounce “the crazy Moonies” and claim that
Preston Moon and his father are pressuring them to inject pro-Unification Church propaganda into
the paper’s coverage, according to a senior newsroom staffer. Times president Douglas D.M. Joo
is backing Coombs and Pruden to the bitter end. Joo is a business rival of Preston Moon who, the
senior staffer says, would be stripped of his post at the Times and redeployed to Korea if Pruden
and Coombs go down…..

Through all these disturbing incidents, Times president Joo has stood by Pruden and Coombs. In
June, according to a source close to senior management, Joo received a memo detailing specific
charges of sexual harassment and racism against Coombs. According to the source, Joo
dismissed the memo, telling Times owners from News World Communications, including Preston
Moon, “I don’t fucking care.”…

Pruden, Coombs and Joo are now operating like a troika to eliminate threats, real and perceived,
to their continued control over the Times. “This is everything to them,” a senior staffer said. “And
they will do anything they have to in order to survive. It’s slash and burn.”…

Ever since Father had appointed Hyun Jin Nim as the Chairman of the UCI, Hyun Jin Nim has
been leading those organizations, including the Washington Times, towards self sufficiency;
without the need for funding from overseas. Mr. J and Mr. K opposed this and attempted to oust
Hyun Jin Nim from the UCI. As a result, both of them have been dismissed from the board. Many
members remember the HDH at East Garden when Father scolded Hyun Jin Nim for apparently
embezzling $7 million. This was due to the accusation by Mr. J and Mr. K. However, once it
became clear that this money had been used by someone on their own side (Mr. P,) they quickly
halted addressing this issue without even vindicating Hyun Jin Nim’s name.

Then, Mr. K and Mr. J hired lawyers from Williams & Connolly LLP, one of the best law firms in
Washington DC, to conduct a legal action against Hyun Jin Nim. On the other hand, Hyun Jin Nim
ordered his staff not to make any counterattack so that this would not bother True Parents, saying
that there was nothing to worry for he was clean.

Interestingly, after months of attacks, this law firm canceled the contract with the two in the
beginning of December. Lawyers often get fired by their clients but this is a rare incidence where
the lawyers themselves voluntarily quit. It seems as though they decided to discontinue the
contract in order to avoid blemish of loss because there was no chance of winning the suit.

YEAR 2007

South America
In 2007, Hyun Jin Nim sent his staff and was seeking a way to resolve the situation in Casado. In
2008, Hyun Jin Nim directly met with the president, discussed about the vision for the country,
and then explained Father’s motivation for purchasing the land in Casado. The business of
charcoal and raising cattle were getting materialized and the resolution was under way with 90%
approval rate from the locals.
http://www.unification.net/nikolaus.beutl/20100610.html

GPF was considered a great success in our movement in 2007, 2008 and it was being positively
reported by Rev. Cho to TP, and TP were “happy” about it. But then, Rev. Cho is removed and
newly appointed Rev. Shin has a negative stance towards GPF and HJN. Some leaders didn’t
think of GPF as something positive for some reason.

Rev. Cho was the last person in the capacity of continental director to report positively to TP
about a HJN related activity. Ever since 2008, there are no more top leaders who report positively
about GPF or HJN to TP. Now, that may affect how TP perceive HJN’s activities. Leaders
reporting GPF as an activity by HJN for self-aggrandizement, reporting that he sees himself as a
2nd TP, that he said that TP failed their mission, that he’s challenging TP’s position, etc. Without
doubt, that kind of reports would bring anger to TF’s perception of HJN.

I had the privilege of translating materials and conversations from people our movement
considers to be close sources to TP or high up in our food chain… they reveal that there is an
active effort to create distance between TP and HJN. And an effort to have TF angry at HJN to
publicly denounce him. So, for me, yes, it does seem very plausible that there’s people way up
there making deliberate decisions against HJN without Father’s approval. They may even get
Father’s approval later, but even if they do receive Father’s reluctant approval to attack his own
son, is that desirable? Does it make their actions kosher just because they got Father to say
“Yes”? http://whatisonthemoon.tumblr.com/page/5

YEAR 2008
In 2008, Hyun Jin nim had many successful GPFs around the world. After each event, he wrote
detailed reports to True Parents, completely offering the victory to them. The reports he gave
them in person are probably the few that actually came across accurately. After sending reports
off with leaders, some leaders chose not to read some of them to True Parents or skewed the
reports stating that Hyun Jin nim is trying to take over True Parent’s position through GPF, even
though Hyun Jin nim has always testified to True Parents in all his speeches. Of course, this
angered True Father creating another misunderstanding.

I heard at a leader’s meeting, when reports were being read, Father asked about a report from
Hyun Jin nim about GPF. One continental leader spoke up and said that he had a report to read
from Hyun Jin nim. Other leaders told him to sit down and be quiet. In other words, this
continental leader had to fight to read the report. http://whatisonthemoon.tumblr.com/page/6

Unauthorized transfer of Paraguay land

UCI representative Thomas Field prepares a board resolution to transfer land property belonging
to HSA-UWC Paraguay to four for-profit entities.

The authority of True Parents' designated representatives to Paraguay and the World Mission
Department is circumvented when they are not given notice of the special meeting. True Parents
belatedly learn of the unauthorized transfer in September 2009.

These land transfers were not authorized by True Parents.

SOUTH AMERICA
This is a portion of a letter written by Moondo Field, son of Thomas Field; someone who actually
lives in Paraguay and knows the situation in that country….

My family works in Paraguay, we are directly involved. And we would never be involved with
anything if it meant stealing from TP. To accuse HJN of that is to accuse my family who is
responsible for several projects through the companies that “hold” the land. These are the lands
of God, TP, and our Movement. Moreover, they are lands the Messiah acquired for a purpose.
We work with that in mind. Is HJN stealing TP’s property and putting the lands into his own
companies? No, he’s not stealing anything. He did everything in order to SAVE our lands that
were in a critical state. You need to understand the context here too, in order to see the full
picture. It’s a simple context too; and that’s why I’m amazed when these leaders make such
accusations and get away with it so easily. There are legal reasons why the Church itself couldn’t
maintain the lands on its own with its name and it was necessary to put the lands under the
structure of companies. Very simple legal reasons that are easily understood. Just think about it
legally, what does it mean to be a church organization, a non-profit entity that is exempted from
paying taxes? Say the land has 100 cows and more cows are born. Soon you can start selling the
cows. Ah, except you can’t sell the cows if you’re a church (remember tax-exempt organization?)
because then you’re basically scamming the government by making a profit without paying taxes.
It would be almost a ‘money-laundering’ operation with the church as a front. I was in several
meetings with Korean leaders (will not name them) who could not grasp this concept. They
wanted to do business in the name of the church while all the lawyers were saying it’s illegal.
And then think, what does it mean to own land bigger than 65 countries? Imagine the amount of
taxes and maintenance fees that need to be paid to manage that. Imagine having to fence
680,000 ha (some 2650 square miles or 1.6 million acres) and pay for security. Imagine having
squatters (people who illegally enter your land and stay there) entering from all sides, political
factions trying to argue that you don’t have ownership over your land, violent clashes taking place
in our land, people asking for jobs (there’s indigenous and many other people living in our lands),
secret runways in the middle of our jungles for airplanes to drop off their cocaine shipments.
We’re talking about a vast amount of land that needs to be protected from all sides and from
external “enemies”. From where does the church get money to pay all of that? Donations from
Japan? Is there a foreseeable future of becoming independent from donations if we use the legal
structure of a church to own the lands? No. You need companies because companies can legally
create a profit and maintain the lands. We have a lot of resources in that land that would be a
waste not to use. Also, the government is on the lookout to take away land that is idle. You need
to use the land productively or you risk it being confiscated. But, you need profit to pay the huge
sum of taxes for the land, generate jobs, pay for everything that the land requires (security,
infrastructure, etc.), so on and so forth.

President Kim Yoon Sang was in charge of the Jardim Project from the beginning. He was placed
in that position by True Father. TF never removed him from that position despite numerous
complaints and accusations from other leaders, both Korean and Brazilian. He was not some new
leader. The Jardim Project was international in scope and thus not directlly under the Brazilian
church management. But the Project needed the cooperation of the Brazilian church in legal
matters such as titles to land, legal proceedings, licenses etc. In 2008 Mauricio Baldini and other
church leaders doubted President Kim's word that TF had given him authority to sell some real
estate. Another Korean-speaking member was present when TF gave that authority and backed
up President Kim's statement in writing. So the Brazilian church leaders grudgingly signed the
necessary papers allowing the sale of some property. The sale was to be administered by a
lawyer that President Kim and his staff had chosen. It turned out that that lawyer misled Pres.
Kim, abused the trust place in him, and tried to rob us blind. Mauricio Baldini used that incident as
his excuse for not trusting official notices coming from International headquarters.

In South America, I won’t mention which country. Hyun Jin Nim had caused a transfer of church
owned properties. We’re talking sixty thousand hectors to his own companies. Six hundred
thousand hectors, I stand corrected. That’s not an exaggeration. So, no. To answer your
question, no. There is a, I think, UCI’s management are, tried to divert certain assets under the
pretext that this is a way of saving assets. Well, that’s fine. That’s great. But, first before you
change the Board of Directors of an organization, you consult it with Father. You get his approval,
then that’s fine. What is his excuse? “I submit reports to Father. It never gets there. Dr. Peter Kim
is always intercepting my reports. Therefore, I declare independence.” That’s a faulty logic folks.
And, over in New York, I said, “Yes, Hyun Jin Nim is being stupid.” This is not I am not attacking
him because the logic is faulty. If the report doesn’t get to Father, then at the very minimum, you
have to exercise your own diligence, exalt your capacities and go before Father and report it
properly if you so believe that it will be intercepted! Don’t tell me that people are not reporting
correctly to Father. You go before Father! What is the problem here? Don’t make others your
excuse. It’s clear to me. Yes sir.

YEAR 2009

January 2009
Unprecedented breach of UC tradition by UCI board

In what appears to have been part of a pre-arranged plan to take over the UCI board of directors,
Chung Hwan Kwak resigns from the UCI board. The board now has five members.
A meeting of the UCI board is held, and Mike Sommer and Rick Perea are elected to the board,
bringing the total number of board members to seven.
True Parents were not consulted on these additions.
Thomas Walsh and Victor Walters are asked to resign. Mr. Walsh was not expecting this
development. Per comments of Mr. Walters, he was asked to resign for his own protection. True
Parents were not conslulted on these resignations.
The other two existing directors - Dong Moon Joo and Peter Kim - are not informed of the
resignations of Mr. Walsh and Mr. Walters.
This series of events was unprecedented in the history of UCI going back more than 28 years.
Never had anyone been removed from the board without prior consultation with True Parents.
The Articles of Incorporation of UCI filed on February 2, 1977 states, in pertinent part, that "The
Directors recognize and acknowledge that the Reverend Sun Myung Moon has provided the
inspiration and spiritual leadership for the founding of the Corporation and is the spiritual leader
of the international Unification Church movement.”

In addition, the Article Third, Section 1 of the Articles of Amendment to the Articles of
Incorporation of Unification Church International dated February 5, 1980 further states UCI has
and will dedicate itself to the following activities:
"To serve as an international organization assisting, advising, coordinating, and guiding the
activities of Unification Churches organized and operated throughout the world."

“did not go well”. Kook Jin and Hyung Jin were in attendance by phone, even though they were
not board members. Kook Jin declared the board meeting “unauthorized”, and In Jin moved to
have the meeting dismissed until further discussion with True Father. Dr. Joon Ho Seuk
responded to CD Kim’s request for clarification by saying there had been no change in In Jin’s
leadership of the American movement. Hyun Jin was trying to restore the original board as

NHQ20090203 No. 7 MEMORANDUM
From: Dr. Pyung Hwa Kim, Continental Director, NA1, Rev. Michael Jenkins,President FFWPU,
USA
On Monday, February 23rd, the senior leaders of our US movement were called to meet with Dr.
Hyun Jin Moon who shared his vision for our movement in America and the important role of our
work in the world today. One key purpose of the meeting was to clarify True Parents’ recent
statements about the overall leadership for the movement in the US. As True Parents’ have
stated in the past and several times last week at Hoon Dok Hae in Korea, Dr. Hyun Jin Moon has
the central responsibility for guiding our movement in the USA and throughout the Americas.

Attempted takeover of HSA-UWC USA

Stating that he is "the appointed leader of America . . .", Hyun Jin Nim attempts to takeover the
board of HSA-UWC USA by challenging the appointment of In Jin Nim.
The board agrees to consult True Parents and follow their advice. It adjourns without making any
decision on the composition of the board.

In February 2009, after Father called on him to have a special role with America, Hyun Jin Nim
demanded that the board of directors of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World
Christianity (HSA-UWC) in the United States be convened to make changes in the board’s
membership. However, word came from Father, as the founder and central spiritual authority of
our church, that his desire was that there should be no changes to the board of directors at that
time. That direction was confirmed through several channels from Father.
In a meeting with Hyun Jin Nim and a number of representatives of HSA UWC, at his home in
East Garden, I asked the person who was the Continental Director at that time if he had received
the direction from Father that there should be no changes to the board. He confirmed to all of us
there that he had indeed been informed of Father’s direction but said that it was best to just
support Hyun Jin Nim. A call was made to Korea to Father’s assistant by speaker phone. Father’s
special assistant confirmed that Father had asked that there be no changes to the board.
When we arrived at Pine Ridge Resort in Korea, Father was very serious about the five board
members who voted to allow the meeting to continue and to consider Hyun Jin Nim’s proposed
changes. He was also deeply concerned about Hyun Jin Nim’s involvement with this situation. It
was very clear when we sat before Father after we arrived that the direction “not to make any
changes” was in fact his very own direction as our founder and spiritual leader. The direction that
Father took from that point was not based on reports or others’ analysis. Father was focused on
the direction he gave concerning the board and what to do about those who didn’t follow. He
immediately requested that all the board members that voted to continue the meeting, (which
would allow for changes to be made) be notified that they should resign. They were notified and
those board members resigned. Father has forgiven them because they came forward and united
with him by resigning. Father then asked all the board members, the current ones and those who
resigned, to come to Pine Ridge to go to the Original Divine Principle lectures.

March 2009
Hyun Jin continues doing the GPF. He had a conversation with Peter Kim in which he was told
that Peter Kim reported to True Father first about Kook Jin in Korea, then reported to Father that
Hyun Jin was trying to take over the board of directors. Hyun Jin tried to speak with Father about
it, but from those reports, Father was very angry and would not listen.

world message, which gave Kook Jin control of the entire worldwide financial base.

Beginning on March 1st, Father offered special prayers for one week concerning what further
steps should be taken. Hoon Mo Nim was asked to pray and check the situation internally. On
March 8th at the Sunday morning Hoon Dok Hae at Pine Ridge (where the seven-day Original
Divine Principle workshop had just concluded) True Family, including Hyun Jin Nim, elders of the
church, and five hundred members gathered to hear Father’s message. Father’s talk there is well
documented on video. At that time Father reiterated that Rev. Hyung Jin Moon is the central
representative to all of True Family and all our movement on behalf of True Parents. He shared
that directions would come to our world movement from True Parents through Rev. Hyung Jin
Moon and that all True Family, together with elders of the church leadership (Continental
Directors and others), should make a consensus on how to fulfill True Parents’ directions. That
consensus should then be reported back to Hyung Jin Nim, who should bring it to True Father
through True Mother. (Mother–son cooperation is a fundamental principle of Parentism.) Father
then asked Hyun Jin Nim to stop all public activities for one year and to stay by his side during
that time. He said this out of love. He asked Rev. Jin Man Kwak to resign from all public missions,
separate from Hyun Jin Nim, and to work in his assigned country of Mongolia.

Who wrote or gave the message from spirit world?

I saw a copy once but I can not find it anymore. Isn't it strange though that the "spirit world" said
HJN should be in charge of UPF but within months they took that away too. It seems that the
spirit world message was written by Dr. Yong and Peter Kim, but it is uncertain if it was their idea
or someone else’s direction. Dr Yong or maybe spelled Dr Yang the old CD from N. America.
http://whatisfatherslegacy.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=48

Rev. Shin may want to say that is against True Parents. Rev. Shin would say that the son
planned rebellion against his parents. Needless to say, this kind of accusation is nothing new. It
has been repeated again and again from a long time ago by the group who wanted to kick out
HJN from True Family. That group even prepared that “Spirit World Message” and attacked HJN
at Cheon Jeong Won in Sokcho in early March, 2009. When HJN had difficulty in accepting that
message, they managed to have the proclamation of 1 year suspension from the public activities
given to him, which was for him like a cruel punishment.

True Parents recommend changes to UCI board
True Parents name two people whom they recommend as additional members of the UCI board

July 9, 2009
Attempt to follow True Parents' recommendation thwarted

Mr. Joo and Mr. Kim call a board meeting to have the two persons recommended by True
Parents added to the board. The other three members of the board don't join the conference call.
Mr. Joo and Mr. Kim are left without a quorum.

WASHINGTON TIMES
Hyun Jin Nim, with the former CEO Mr. M, had been striving to make it profitable and self-
sustainable by 2013 through restructuring, and collecting donations from renowned
conservatives. Under Hyun Jin Nim’s leadership, The Washington Times cut down on the need of
outside funding from $5 million to $3 million. Mr. Solomon’s only contribution was editing the
newspaper.

However, when the funding was ceased in July 2009 and the official letter was sent in
September, the only choice left for the WT was corporate restructuring. When an employer lays-
off an employee, the Federal law (WARN Act) requires the employer to give a notice to the
employee and clients at least two months in advance. But then, Mr. M refused to give the notice,
believing that Father would certainly send the funding as the owner of the WT. Hyun Jin Nim’s
policy is to never put True Parents into any legal trouble. Thus Hyun Jin Nim had no option other
than dismissing Mr. M because he was in fact claiming that Father, who is the founder and
supporter of the WT, was the owner who had legal responsibilities.

Special UCI Board meeting called
Hyun Jin Nim calls a special board meeting for August 2, and UCI counsel Dan Gray sends the
notice. No purpose is given. Mr. Gray says he does not know the purpose.

Aug. 2, 2009
Kim and Joo removed from UCI board

Hyun Jin Nim at the special meeting calls for the removal first of Mr. Kim, which passes, and then
for the removal of Mr. Joo, which also passes. Board now has just three members --- Hyun Jin
Nim, Mr. Sommer and Mr. Perea.
True Parents were not consulted and did not approve the removal of Mr. Kim and Mr. Joo from
the UCI board.

Changes made to boards of Washington Times and NWC

Mr. Joo and Thomas McDevitt are removed from The Washington Times board. Apparently,
Jonathan Slevin and Richard Wojcik are added around this time. True Parents were not
consulted on these changes.
Mr. Joo (and maybe Mr. McDevitt) are also removed from the board of NWC LLC, which is the
parent company of The Washington Times and a subsidiary of UCI. At some point, Mr. Slevin
becomes the sole director of NWC LLC. True Parents were not consulted on these changes.

UPF directors given statement to sign

Directors of UPF are belatedly requested to sign a written consent form in lieu of a special board
meeting to appoint Hyun Jin Nim as co-chairman of UPF. The consent form is dated July 3, 2009.

Without any funding, the UCI asked the church through Mr. J to take over the Washington Times
on Oct.2009. This request was rejected by Mr. J, who replied by saying what they wanted was the
UCI and not the Washington Times. Amidst those difficulties, the Washington Times started its
restructuring in December. However, this would require a large sum of money starting with the
payment for unemployment allowance. As such, at the end of December, Hyun Jin Nim wrote a
letter to Father and presented a proposal saying, “Since it is not Father’s wish to close the
Washington Times down, we plan to reduce the loss from $36 million to $8 million by decreasing
the number of employees from 380 to 110 and turn the printed newspaper into multi-media,” and
asked for funds to conduct the restructuring.

What kind of organizations are under the jurisdiction of the UCI? What belongs to the UCI? UCI
has many businesses. It’s a sensitive topic because it’s a non-for-profit. You really are included
from having many businesses that jeopardize your non-for-profit status. It does have a lot of
entities such as True World Foods, you’ve heard about that. US Properties. Won Up. Washington
Times. Washington Times Aviation. That’s a sensitive topic and I cannot go into details. But, the
asset size of UCI is very, very significant. And, what is happening now is that Hyun Jin Nim is
selling off assets. He is selling off assets…

One of Moon's children, Justin Moon, who was chosen by his father to run many of the church's
Asian businesses, has slashed the newspaper's annual subsidy, forcing the paper's executives,
led by Moon's eldest son, Preston Moon, to search for deep pockets elsewhere. Meanwhile, the
newspaper has hacked its newsroom staff by more than half, from 225 in 2002 down to about 70
people, raised the paper's price and deliberately shrunk its circulation to cut costs, shed its metro
and sports sections, and fired or pushed out several top executives, including its publisher earlier
this week. Several reporters said most of the staffers are seeking to leave.

"Separate GPF foundation" declared
Hyun Jin Nim distributes a letter to church leaders, indicating he will carry forward with GPF, not
as a UPF project but as a separate movement in its own right. This was not approved by True
Parents. In tendering his resignation as UPF co-chairman, he writes the GPF series "will have no
formal or legal association with FFWPU. Rather, a separate GPF foundation is being established
for this purpose. Upon hearing that Hyun Jin Nim is determined to hold GPF events in the
Philippines, True Parents send Cheong Shik Yong with instructions that Philippines members
should not support or associate with GPF in any way
.
Later, UCI representatives are aware of and support Mr. Yong being placed on a Philippine
government blacklist, and he is barred from entering the Philippines. Mr. Yong was True Parents'
appointed representative to the region, and his exclusion from the Philippines represented an
attempt to circumvent True Parents' authority.

TWT loses Joo and McDevitt
Mr. Joo and Mr. McDevitt are terminated by The Washington Times. True Parents were not
consulted on this move.

“Mr. Joo had returned part of the money specifically the amount of 21 million dollars to Mission
Foundation. As the president of the Washington Times Aviation, Mr. Joo had decided to shift the
monies over to Korea because he felt that the funds were going to get misused.” Here, he had
omitted that Mr. Joo had been dismissed on November 8 th, 2009, and next day, Mr. Joo had
transferred the money without any authority from the Washington Times Aviation USA LLC (WTA
USA.) The motivation was, as it has been stated here, “he felt that the funds were going to get
misused.”

Without a doubt, this is criminal conduct and the WTA (Washington Times Aviation) has asked
him to return the money a number of times. Then the WTA sent out an official notice on
November 18th and asked Mr. Joo and the Mission Foundation to return the money. As Mr. P also
admits, “Mother is the legal representative of the Mission Foundation,” and thus the notice
included True Mother’s name as one of the recipients of this notice. When the money was not
returned after repeated requests, the WTA put a hold on the bank account (a provisional
attachment) on December 8th so that it would not be misappropriated. Of course, this provisional
attachment does not constitute a law suit. It is a procedure to protect the asset from being
misused. If the responsible party (the Mission Foundation) objects this, they may request the
attachment to be suspended or cancelled.
http://www.unification.net/nikolaus.beutl/20100610.html

…his question is what is our strategy to counter the lawsuit against Mission Foundation? It’s
simple. I told their attorneys, “Just dismiss the suit, I’ll give you the money back.” You never
asked me. You just file a suit. I said, “Sir, have you ever took the time to call me once?” “Oh, no,
we have to work with our outside counsel.” I said, “It’s not too late. Dismiss the suit against
Mission Foundation and its legal representative, Hak Ja Han Moon!” Simple. I haven’t got a, they
are now moving on it. Instead, they file a lawsuit against Mr. Joo in Maryland for thirty one million
dollars. And what does his counsel do? They are notorious for using the media to destroy their
opponents. Korea Times article, everything was leaked to Korea Times, in New York, vilifying Mr.
Joo as a fraud. It’s very, very discouraging. It’s very discouraging.

Washington Times editorial page editor Richard Miniter is filing a complaint with the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission against the paper today, alleging discrimination based on
age, disability, and religion -- being forced to attend a Unification Church mass wedding -- and he
will ask the government to enjoin the Times' assets, his lawyer tells TPM.

So Hyun Jin Nim’s folks are saying, “We just wanna freeze the monies that Dr. Joo wired back to
Korea.” So I got together with one of the UCI counsel. “Please sir, please dismiss the suit,” to
which member attorney replied, “Everyone is fair game.” Everyone is fair game. I said, “No sir.
Mother is not fair game.” There is a speculation that Hyun Jin Nim didn’t know it, didn’t know that
the Korean law firm was going to move so forcefully. Well then, dismiss it! The order of
attachment was issued in December 8th. I marched down to Rev. Kwak’s office. I said, “Dismiss
this!” The order of attachment was sent, faxed over to Rev. Kwak. What’s today? Nothing has
been done. http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=76774838423&topic=9620

MY questions:
1. 1. What is the 21 million dollars in the Mission fund, illegally transferred to them from the
WTA going to be used for? Lawyers fees? Airplane rides back and forth? Good causes?
2. 2. Does the outside lawsuits against the WT by former outside employees put TP in
jeopardy once again for a court suit?

TAI loses Joo and Steinbronn
Mr. Joo and Richard Steinbronn are terminated from their positions in the TAI group. True
Parents were not consulted on this move.

A brother named Richard Steinbronn is an attorney. He had been working for UCI as its in-house
counsel until he was dismissed. He had actually filed this lis pendens. Those were actually liens
place on real estate so that he cannot sell them off. Yes. He’s taken the initiative to file this lis
pendens. But, he doesn’t, he has an issue with standing. The court asks him, “Who are you? Who
are you to file lis pendens?” So, he’s having a difficult period with our legal challenges that are
difficult, difficult challenges. Yes, we are trying to solve this problem. Selling off assets and
leasing our properties, for example, Father has a house in Washington DC, members who have
been guardians, custodians of the Jefferson House, were requested to move out, so that he could
lease Father’s house for five thousand dollars a month.
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=76774838423&topic=9620

By the way Steinbronn's case was thrown out of court by the judge. It was dismissed with
prejudice, which is another way of saying that it was laughed out of court.

Nonetheless, pursuant to True Father’s directives, Japan had faithfully wired monies in support
of the Washington Times. “Oh, we never got it.” Yes, you did.
The massive layoffs – the Washington Times is really the face of our True Parents in the United
States! It is reduced to nothing. It has currently eighty employees. Previously, there were three
hundred fifty. Did he get Father’s permission? No. Mr. McDevitt, the president and the publisher
of the Washington Times, Father’s representative, was escorted out by a private security. The
same with Mr. Cooperrider, the CFO. Same with Mr. Dan Fefferman who had been using the
offices at the Washington Times to address the kidnapping issue in Japan. He was also escorted
out. There is the Washington Times Foundation; Father’s autobiography, published by the
Washington Times Foundation. Hyun Jin Nim directed the corporate secretary, “You must dismiss
Mr. Joo from the Board of Directors position of the Washington Times Foundation.” This
gentleman refused. He was requested to resign. So, he did. And then, Dr. Joo gets a legal notice
from the UCI’s counsel. “Cease and desist from using the Washington Times Foundation name. It
belongs to us.” Dr. Joo and Dr. Kim get a legal notice, as well, from UCI’s counsel, one of the big
shot law firms in DC whose primary practice is criminal defense. Why does Hyun Jin Nim retain
the services of criminal defense law firm? They are allegations of self-feelings. I will not go into
details, but there are very questionable practices, financial practices that’s going to get everybody
into trouble.
I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to be so serious. It is very serious. This is – we got to bring everybody
into account that there’s misuse of funds if we do not internally remediate. The government will
enforce it. We aren’t above the law. Well, I am actually. It’s very embarrassing that we are
actually going through this, but I guess, it’s a necessity.

True Father in HDH makes a statement about Rev. Kwak, and Hyun Jin, and their positions.
However these notes have all but disappeared from the Internet except for references in different

After much prayer and jung-sung, Hyun Jin nim came to meet True Father after stopping public
activities for one year in 2009. Before he was allowed to meet his own Father, leaders presented
him with a document to sign. The document stated that Hyun Jin nim had to leave UCI and stop
all public activities for 3 years and he had to sign before he could meet Father. Based on his
conscience, he made the decision not to sign because he felt it would not be God’s desires or
True Parent’s desires. This is one example where leaders stood between father and son. I doubt
True Parents know anything about that document. http://whatisonthemoon.tumblr.com/page/6

Your "Sons Rise in a Moon Shadow" suffered from a number of false and self-serving quotes.
You quote Kook-Jin (Justin) Moon: "'We assisted in the management [of Central City and the
construction firm] for a year or two,' but then 'Unification Church International said they wanted
to manage.' They 'were not profitable,' he says, but 'I made them very successful.'"This is not
only an example of grandstanding by Kook-Jin Moon, it is also blatantly untrue. Here are the
facts: Kook-Jin was allowed to help oversee the company from 2005 to 2007. During that
period, despite steady revenue growth as a result of the work of previous management,
operating margins were flat at best and the net income declined every year.Kook-Jin also
claims that "he [his older brother Hyun-Jin (Preston) Moon] liked the companies becoming
profitable." Since 2007 we have created an increase in net profit and corporate value every
year, which is a matter of record, not opinion.

Turmoil in Sao Paulo

On Sunday, May 30, 2010, Hyun Jin Nim proceeded with a group of followers into a worship
service in progress at the Brazil Headquarters Church, went up onto the stage and took over the
pulpit. Video recorded at the scene shows some of his followers pumping their fists as if some
great victory had been achieved.

True Parents' appointed representatives to the continent and the nation, who had been leading
the service at the pulpit, were forcibly removed from the stage so that Hyun Jin Nim could speak.

At a Hoon Dok Hoe the following morning, True Parents' appointed representatives were
subjected to violence and ridicule in front of the Brazilian members.

Meanwhile, Hyun Jin Nim purported to have placed one of his own supporters in the postion
of president of the Brazil Church.

June 5, 2010 Proclamation

Official Memo of Tongilgyo International-World Mission Headquarters announced that TPs

announced a special proclamation during Hoon Dok Hae in Cheon Jeong Gung dated June 5,
2010. We know, over the years, and to all photo reports from ipeacetv.com, TPs conduct daily
HDH with members in a hall. Instead, the video shows the declaration was written in a bedroom.
Why was it not in HDH hall? Was it really took place during HDH? Or was it before HDH? Or after
HDH? Why did Tongilgyo International-World Mission Headquarters announce in the official
memo reporting that proclamation was announced during HDH which without proper chairs, table
and microphone prepared for TPs? http://whatisonthemoon.tumblr.com/post/710228946/how-
about-the-part-on-the-proclamation-video-where-rm

Anonymous asked: Not only was the proclamation written in the bedroom, but the video tape
conveniently only shows the first page after it was already written. Unlike the second page, we
are unable to see the discussion and prompting of the mom and son to write that first page. Is
there any tape available of the actual discussion leading up to the first page, where he proclaimed
heretic and destroyer?. http://whatisonthemoon.tumblr.com/page/4

I listened to the Korean: RM asked if it was the year 2000. Hak Ja Han repeated to RM 6 times
that it is the year 2010. Then even after hearing that, he wrote the year 2000. Hak Ja Han said,
“Eh? No! Not the year 2000! It’s the year 2010!” So then he scribbled out and wrote over it to
correct it, from 2000 to 2010. You can see the dark scribble on the lower left hand corner of the
first page. Senility, or dementia, according to Wikipedia: Especially in the later stages of the
condition, affected persons may be disoriented in time (not knowing what day of the week, day of
the month, or even what year it is). A note on the June 5th Proclamation

My question: Why doesn’t the Family Federation release the full tape of the proclamation to settle
this issue once and for all, from the time TF was speaking about doing this, in full, with sound and
translation?
Although America cashed in big with the “violence”, the “violence” argument did not make it too
big in countries like Korea. A big portion of members actually think Rev. Shin deserved what he
got (I’m not saying it’s right, just saying how it’s perceived). They read the letters and reports Rev.
Shin wrote and are in disagreement with him because they read other reports that paint a
different story. So now Rev. Shin is actually afraid of going to Korea because so many people see
him as the perpetrator of division in the True Family. His reports were distorting what really took
place. Now, the South American CD who goes to all Church events says he won’t be attending
the True Day of All things event in Korea with True Parents because of other engagements. Sure
he has other plans. His “false” report received such a negative reception in Korea that members
are actually angry at him. Don’t believe me? Go to this site which has around 1000 registered
church members and read for yourself what people are saying (it’s all in Korean):
http://cafe.daum.net/W-CARPKorea. Not all Korean members think that Rev. Shin’s reporting is
false, but enough of them do and showed such resistance that Hyung Jin Nim had to cancel the
video campaign against his older brother in Korea. Which brings us to the point that the video
campaign in the US, supposedly endorsed by TP and enforced by Hyung Jin Nim, is probably,
actually not endorsed by TP. Because if it were endorsed by TP, then why would Hyung Jin Nim
cancel it in Korea? If it’s not endorsed by TP, then why say that it is? The church in Korea got
swamped with calls asking to call off the video campaign that it had to stop it.

The latest Jackson lawsuit is specifically targeting the mother of the pop family, with the claimants
hoping to get their hands on any money paid out to Katherine Jackson by the Michael Jackson
estate. Mrs Jackson is being sued by a South Korean newspaper called The Segye Times in
relation to a Jackson family tour that never happened back in the early nineties. According to US
gossip man Roger Friedman, the Segye Times is owned by the Unification Church, the
sometimes controversial religious organisation headed up by Korean religious leader Sun Myung
Moon and often referred to as the Moonies.

The Moonies sued the Jackson clan to get their money back. Michael Jackson settled the specific
litigation against him in 1992, but the rest of the family failed to negotiate a deal so the whole
dispute went to court in 1994. According to Freidman, Katherine and Joe Jackson basically
ignored the litigation, and therefore a judgement was made against them to the tune of $4 million.
When they failed to pay up, the Moonies made moves to seize the Jackson parent's home. At that
point the couple did respond, in that they transferred ownership of their property to Michael, thus
putting it out of the reach of the bailiff. The Jackson family's finances have been in such a state
of disarray ever since the Moonies haven't made much of an effort to claim their cash back. But
now, with Katherine Jackson a key beneficiary of the Michael Jackson estate, which has,
according to reports, generated nearly a billion in income in the last year, the Moonies are back
for their cash. They have filed legal papers requesting that any pay out from the Jacko estate to
Mrs Jackson should come to them to make good the 1994 court judgement in their favour.
Though, the claimants say, with sixteen years of interest they are now owed $13 million rather
than the $4 million they were rewarded back then.

My final question: Since both sides claim to feel so deeply for the Japanese members who literally
sold their blood, their inheritance, their family homes and their future for this movement, why is so
much money being wasted, just in legal fees alone?
