N: It was the last week of the regiments stay in Meryton and all the ladies were miserable
MRS.BENNET: I remember I cried for two days when Colonel Millers regiment went away.I was sure my
heart would break.
LYDIA:I am quite sure my heart would break but I received an invitation from Mrs.Forster to travel with the
regiment to Brighton.
N: Because of this invitation, Elizabeth pleaded her father to not give his permission
ELIZABETH: Father, please dont give Lydia your permission. Remember that Lydia has a foolish
behavior and has lack of decorum. Id be afraid if her behavior would grow worse if she goes away from
home and that would stain the familys name Right?
MR BENNET: We would have no peace till Lydia had her way.
ELIZABETH:Then let her go, Colonel Forster is a sensible man and he will see to it she does not get up to
any real mischief.
N:Elizabeth met Mr.Wickham for the last time
MR WICKHAM:How was your stay in Hunsford?
ELIZABETH:Colonel Fitzwilliam and Mr.Darcy had both spent three weeks at Rosings. Do you know the
former?
MR WICKHAM: I have seen him quite often.Did you meet them frequently while you were at Hunsford?
ELIZABETH:Yes,almost everyday and I think I understand Mr.Darcy now since I spent so much time with
him.Well,I have to go now Bye!
MR WICKHAM:Bye!
N:Elizabeths tour to the north of England was fast approaching .A fortnight before their schedule started,
she received a letter.
ELIZABETH:A letter from my aunt?
-READS LETTER-
N:Four weeks later,Mrs and Mr Gardiner came to Longbourn with their children and spent one day in
Longbourn,The next day they set off for their tour.
MRS GARDINER:This is Derbyshire
ELIZABETH: Wow! Its so amazing to see this beautiful view!
N:Then they headed to Lambton
MRS.GARDINER:This is my former home and the place where I had some friends. Pemberly is just five
miles away from Lambton.
N;They discussed there route in the evening.
MRS GARDINER:I wish to see Pemberly estate once again.
MR.GARDINER:Im quite willing to stop at Pemberly. Is it okay for you Elizabeth?
ELIZABETH:distressed face I dont wish to visit Pemberly.Im so tired of viewing all the great houses
during our tour
MRS.GARDINER:If it were just a fine, richly furnished house, I would not care to see it either. But the
grounds surrounding the estate are beautiful and worth seeing
ELIZABETH:Ill go if the family were not present at that moment
N;To her relief ,She learned that the family was away for the summer
N:The next day.
MR GARDINER: Lizzy, let me ask you one more time. Do you want to visit Pemberly. Youll waste your
time here not seeing Pemberlys beautiful view.
ELIZABETH:I dont mind going. Sure!
N:Elizabeth gazed out the coach seeing the view of Pemberly Woods.
ELIZABETH: Wow! The view really looks amazing in here
N:They climbed a small hill and at the summit they had a grand view of Pemberly House.
ELIZABETH:What a beautiful sight!
N:The went down the hill, crossed the bridge and drove to the door.
MRS.GARDINER:Doesnt this place look amazing.I told you,You wont regret it
N:As Elizabeth turned to take a last look at the grand house .Her uncle and aunt stopped as they
wondered how old the building was.Suddenly Mr.Darcy himself came forward from the road behind the
stables.
-ELIZABETH TRYING TO AVOID DARCY-
-THERE EYES MEET AND BLUSHED-
MR.DARCY:Hello Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH:Oh hello..
-GARDINERS STEPPING BACK-
-PAUSE-
ELIZABETH:It was wrong for me to come to Pemberly if I was just going to see him.How strange for
Mr.Darcy to appear here
-PLAY-
MR.DARCY:How was your stay at Derbyshire speaking hurriedly
ELIZABETH:It was fine I guess.
MR.DARCY:Would you be kind enough to introduce your friends to me?
ELIZABETH:Oh,yes. This is Mrs.Gardiner and Mr.Gardiner there my aunt and uncle.
MR DARCY:Hello sir, mam.
N:To Elizabeths surprise both men talked about fishing.
MR.DARCY:Would you like to have some tea in my house
MRS GARDINER:Oh no,were fine and we have to go now. Thanks for the offer
N:Mr.Darcy helped them in the carriage and they went off.
MR.GARDINER:He is so polite, well behaved and unassuming.
MRS GARDINER:He is very dignified in his bearing.I have heard people acuse him of his pride but I have
seen nothing of it.Lizzy why do you dislike it.
N:The next morning they heard the sound of a carriage outside the inn.
MR DARCY:Good morning,Sorry for the disturbance we have brought to you but I wanted to introduce
you to my sister.
MRS.DARCY:Hello
N:Miss Darcy was a tall girl and people accused her of being proud but she soon came to the conclusion
she was very shy and just spoke a monosyllable.A few minutes later they heard footsteps and Mr.Bingley
entered the room.
MR BINGLEY:Good morning,Im sorry Im late
N:After all the talking, the visitors rose to leave.
MR DARCY:We invite you to have dinner with us if its fine with you
MRS GARDINER;Sure
Mr Bingley:Im pleased to meet all of you again.Goodbye!
-Elizabeth going up her room-
ELIZABETH:It could only be love for me that had brought about this change in him.
