Module A: Comparative Study of Texts and Context

Syllabus outline
This module involves a comparative study of two texts that are related in some
way but have been published in different forms and come from different
contexts. The relationship is called intertextual because there are clear conscious
links (references, allusions, quotations, responding to arguments) from the new
text to the older text.
Emphasise: Compare, Relation of contexts, effect of context, question of value.
How does the context influence each composers message, aims,
values, concerns
What is the implicit/explicit relationship between the two texts.

Exploring the direct and explicit links between older texts. How ideas have
changed through context, but still retain some timeless elements.
A conscious re-examination, exploration of past ideas in Richard III
Impromptu some topic sentences.
