Nastavna jedinica/Unit: Unit 4 Hes a hero Lesson 1 (pg. 29)
Nastavnik/Instructor: abri Sanela

INTRODUCTION: The teacher checks the students homework. She checks

the homework of each student (a drawing they had to make). The teacher is
very encouraging as she praises the students drawings and finds one of the
drawings so impressive, she asks the student to show it to the entire class.
The class does a revision of the previous lesson as the teacher uses
flashcards with pictures of different professions and asks the students what
they can see on the picture the students are very active and engaged,
willing to raise their hand and prove themselves. Furthermore, the teacher
gives every student a chance to demonstrate their knowledge.

MAIN PART: The teacher asks students about pronouns and explains that
only those who think they know the answer should raise their hand. After
that, she instructs them to open their class books on page 26. The students
are instructed to look carefully at each of the pictures and read the sentence
below the pictures (the sentences are a combination of the previous lesson
regarding professions and the new lesson involving pronouns). The children
display great interest and are very active. They are then instructed to try and
translate the sentences below the pictures. Following this activity, the
teacher asks the students whether they know how to form interrogative
sentences from the declarative ones. Students yet again are very active and
the teacher praises their behavior and correct answers. Furthermore, the
teacher tries to get the more silent students to speak up and she offers them
help in order to elicit their response. On the blackboard, the teacher writes
down pronouns such as hes and shes and explains that such pronouns
are contractions, i.e. shortened forms of the full he is and she is. She then
asks the students to copy that into their notebooks. At some point, the
teacher reprimands a couple of students for talking when they should be
working and warns them that she will be checking who copied the notes from
the blackboard. The students then move on to activity 3, where they have to
fill in the blanks. The teacher instructs the students what their task is and
then gives them some time to complete it. After that, the class checks their
answers together. The final activity of the day is activity 4, the teacher pairs
up the students and explains that they will be asking each other questions
about professions of people on the pictures. She demonstrates the exercise
and then allows the students to complete the activity.
CONCLUDING PART: The class does a revision of pronouns and interrogative
verbs. The students are told to open their workbooks and mark their
homework for next time (pg. 29, activity 1).

STUDENTS ACTIVITY: The students demonstrated great interest in the

subject and all of the activities and kept raising their hands whenever the
teacher asked them a question.
