Chapter I
Overview
Assets are defined as follows: "An asset is an item, thing or entity
that has potential or actual value to an organisation". This is
deliberately wider than physical assets but these form an important
focus for more organisations. Assets are sometimes defined as
resources or things of value that are owned by a company. Some
examples of assets which are obvious and will be reported on a
company's balance sheet include: cash, accounts receivable,
inventory, investments, land, buildings, and equipment.
In the Maintenance Management class, students could learns how
they manage and maintain the assets so the assets can be operated
well and longer so theyll have more profits for the company. This
course is so important for each companies. Because a good asset
management of a company will produce more profit for the company
itself.
This report contains how to manage the assets data and how the
nomenclature of the assets. It is using a unique number for identify
the assets. It is similliar with NRP for ITS students. The number will
determined the group, location, department, etc.
The Writer will explain the asset register process with using
CWFREE software and also gives the references to get the asset from
the Assignment Data.

Chapter III
Refference
In this asset register, the writer used CWFREE software which

supported by Microsoft Access. This work refferenced from
NORSOK Standard Z-008 Rev 2 Nov.2001 Especially for the
nomenclature of asset. At page 16, there is a hierarchy of a system
which is formed by arranged levels, from the higher one to below
(branches) with lower level. Then it will determine the nomenclature
of the assets.
For numbering procedure, the writer uses Fundamental of
Preventive Maintenance as reference.
CWFREE software is used for making an Asset Register by
looking the guide which inside the software. Beside of the Asset
Register, the writer also makes a PM Task list, PM Schedule, dan
Work Order.
The writer gets from the Assignment Data as the reference for
the equipment list.

a. The Determination of Asset Number

The process of asset nomenclature uses philosophies or rules based
on a hierarchy in pdf NORSOK Standard Z-008 Rev 2 Nov.2001. The
hierarchy is ;

In Figure 1. There are several levels which start from the

highest level, a Plant. Then the lower level is Systems, Maintenance
Objects, and the lowest level is Tags Number.
So the hierarchy could be formed by :

Asset Nomenclature based on the previous rule and makes it belows;

An Eight-digits Numbers and Letters to formed this
nomenclature which is explained at Chapter IV, ABBREVATION
before. The rules are :
AAA-BB-C-DD

are normal and critical. The critical assets are the assets which
very important for a ship or a company. Some critical asset will stops
a system when it was fail or broke. So they need to be watched
carefully. The normal asset is other components which supports other
