METHOD STATEMENT

EXCAVATION WORKS

1. Excavation permit

Prior starting Excavation works. D.C.I has been granted by the authorities.

2. Existing services

No services have been found in the project premises.

Trench of 1m w x 2m deep has been done all round the plot limits.

3. Shoring system

Please refer to Shoring Method Statement with full calculation support.

4. Dewatering system

Please refer to Dewatering Method Statement

5. Safety

a) Steel handrail to be provided and welded to the Shoring H Beam on 3

sides plus PVC chicken wire all around.
b) Wooden Hand rail to be provided on the 4th side covered with warning
tape.
c) Tower Ramp to be provided with safe railing all around to reach the
excavated level 2 nos.
d) Safety Sign Board around the excavated area notifying the location of the
same written in English/Arabic/Urdu.
e) Lighting all around the excavated area to be provided all Night long.
f) In case of emergency to call the following departments

6. Supervision

Site Engineer and General Foreman for assuring that work is on going as per the
drawings/specification and approved Method Statement.

7. Plot Limits / Excavation Profile

9. Method Statement

A General Description

Taking into consideration of all the above, Excavation Works to start from the
existing Ground Level upto the required level of each face. The excavation work
is divided into 6 phases as described below.

B Phase one

* Excavation limits 94x52 mtr

* Level upto -3.76 mtr
* Geometrical Qty to be excavated and carted away
94x52x2.8m = 13.686m3 of Hydraulic fill

C Phase two

* Excavation limits 92x51 mtr

* Level upto -7.32 mtr
This level is the piling working platform
For piles P2, P3, P4
* To provide 60x60 channel on the peripheral
side of the excavated area for water collection
to be drained through the dewatering system
* Geometrical Qty to be excavated and carted away
92x51x3.56 = 16.704m3 of simsima lime stone

D Phase three

* Excavation limits 92x51 mtr

* Level upto -8.308 mtr
* Geometrical. Qty to be excavated and
kept in place. Till the completion of
the piling works

92x51x0.988 = 4.636m3 of simsima lime stone

Level -8.07 is piles P3 and P4. Neck cut off level

E Phase four

* Excavation limits as required for Piles P2

* Excavation shape

P2/1 8 no. 3.25x3.25 mtr

P2/2 8 no. 3.25x4.75 mtr

* Level upto
Geometrical Qty to be excavated and kept
in place till the completion of the piling works.

This level is the piling working platform of pile P1

19x19x2.272 = 982m3 of simsima lime stone

G Phase six

* Excavation limits 19x19mtr

* Level upto -11.488
* Geometrical quantity to be excavated and kept in place till the completion
of the piling works.

19x19x0.988 = 357m3

* To provide 60x60 channel on the peripheral side of the excavated area

for water collection to be drained through the dewatering system

* Level -11.25 is pile P1 Neck cut off level

N.B.
1. On completion of Piling works all excavated material kept in place to be
carted away progressively.

2. Disturbed layer (if any) to be removed carefully prior Blinding works to start
and filled (if needed) with concrete Grade 15.

3. Additional excavated area/volume around pile caps

To be filled with cyclopean concrete.
