INSTRUCTIONS TO MANUALLY INSTALL KAI TAK AIRPORT

These instructions relate to PMDG and FSX. If you want to fix Kai Tak for any of the other
developers, the instructions are the same but the files will obviously be under that developers
folder within your version of Flight Simulator. You will need to find them.

I take no responsibility for any of these actions should you error in any way. If you get lost,
just re-run your latest Airac and all will be restored. The first four instructions do save out the
two files you will be working on in case you make an error in an individual file.

It is assumed that you have a basic knowledge of working with text files and the Flight Sim file
structure.

1. Go to. FSX\PMDG\Navdata\wpnavapt.txt
2. Save this file to another folder out of Flight Sim
3. Go to. FSX\PMDG\Navdata\airports.dat
4. Save this file to another folder out of Flight Sim
5. Open the file called 'HK file' in the zip package. Highlight and copy the 2 lines of
code there.
6. Back at 1, open wpnavapt.txt and do a search on VHHH or HONG KONG INTL.
There are 4 lines of code for HONG KONG INTL. They may not be necessarily in
order but you need the last line which looks something like this:-
HONG KONG INTL VHHH25R12467253 22.321122
113.929636110.9025300022.
7. Go to the end of this line, hit enter and paste the copied lines of code from the HK file
8. Save wpnavapt.txt
9. Open the file called 'APT file' in the zip package. Highlight and copy the line of code
there
10. Back at 3, open airports.dat and do a search on VHHH It looks like this:- VHHH
22.308889 113.914722
11. Go to the end of this line, hit enter and paste the copied line of code from the APT file
12. Save airports.dat

These actions should enable you to now use Kai Tak VHHX.
