eCar Sharing Management
Mobility for environmentally aware cities,

A new era, a new solution
Since the beginning of the energy revolution we have
been engaged in an extensive rethinking process that also
includes the field of mobility. How can modern cities and
towns offer their citizens clean air as well as the luxury of
individual mobility? What contribution can be made by car
rental companies and other mobility providers?
We have addressed this question and developed a concept
that is currently being implemented in a pilot project:
Siemens eCar Sharing Management.
Convenient, efficient and clean
Under this car sharing system, the eCar benefits from
optimum utilization: the relatively high purchase price
compared to cars with conventional internal combustion
engines is shared among a number of users. At the
same time, the eCars proportional cost-of-ownership
decreases with every kilometer it drives. Whats more, the
vehicle is a variable consumer that becomes controllable
and smart-grid relevant by virtue of the intelligent
way the charging infrastructure is integrated into the
car-sharing system.
The eCar sharing system gives road-users optimized
vehicle use for those parts of their journey for which
public transport is not an option, and can also be linked
to traffic information and control systems. Booking and
billing processes for rental, parking, charging and tolls
for environmental zones are handled automatically, are
legally sound and are based on secure data transmission
systems.
Siemens eCar sharing system makes mobility efficient and
sustainable: emissions are reduced, fossil fuels conserved,
traffic eased and the use of infrastructure and public
transport economically optimized for both passenger and
goods traffic.
