 OBJECTIVE
The objective of Indian Veterinary Congress is to organize a
congregation of activities covering different aspects of
veterinary science supported by many organizations. The main
aim of the Congress is to focus attention and to generate
awareness about the pragmatic role of veterinary profession.
The Congress will take a stock of all our efforts made during
the past and to take up work to fill up gaps. This could be
possible only if the Congress is represented by different
organizations.
THE HOST INSTITUTE
IVRI, an institute of international repute under the aegis of
ICAR, is a premier animal health institute. Since inception of
the erstwhile Imperial Bacteriological Laboratory Pune,
(1889) the rechristened IVRI has contributed enormously for
better health coverage, production and extension education
throughout the country. Its excellence is being recognized all
over the world. The IVRI's first campus was Mukteswar
(beautiful kumaon hills) and subsequent the institute opened a
Campus at Izatnagar in 1913. The institute's functional
regional centers are located at Bangalore, Palampur, Kolkata,
Bhopal and recently added Pune.
THE CITY
Bareilly is a city in Bareilly district in the northern Indian state
of Uttar PradeshAccording to the epic Mahbhrata, Bareilly
region (Panchala) is said to be the birthplace of Draupadi, who
was also referred to as 'Panchali' (one from the kingdom of
Panchla) by K??? (Lord Krishna). When Yudhishthira
becomes the king of Hastinapura at the end of the
Mahbhrata, Draupadi becomes his queen. The folklore says
that Gautama Buddha had once visited the ancient fortress city
of Ahicchattra

(Ramnagar village of Aonla Tehsil) in Bareilly.
In the 12 century, the kingdom was under the rule by different
clans of Kshatriya Rajputs. With the Islamic Turkic Invasion
the region became a part of the Delhi Sultanate before getting
absorbed in the emerging Mughal Empire. The foundation of
the modern City of Bareilly foundation was laid by Mukrand
Rai in 1657. Later the region became the capital of Rohilkhand
region before getting handed over to Nawab Vazir of Awadh
and then to East India Company (transferred to the British
India) and later becoming an integral part of India.
ACCOMODATION
The organizers will provide accommodation to delegates in the
International Guest House (IGH), Minnet House at IVRI
campus and CARI Guest House, Izatnagar at ICAR/Govt.
prescribed rates. Delegates are requested to book their
accommodation soon and register themselves in advance in
order to avoid any inconvenience. There are 3-4 star hotels in
Bareilly. At the requirement of delegate, such accommodation
may be booked at a price from Rs.1500 onwards, if the delegate
remits draft for payment in advance. Delegates should inform
if they are accompanied with spouse. During April, the climate
at Bareilly will be little warm with a moderate temperature
(20.90C to 360C).
TRANSPORT
IVRI, located at Izatnagar is 8 K.M. from Railway (NR)
Station, 5 K.M. from the Bareilly City (NER) and U.P.
Roadways Bus Stand. Bareilly is well connected with Agra,
Delhi, Lucknow, Mathura, both by train and road. Local
transport from Railway/Bus Stand will be provided by the
Organizers. Delegates are requested to intimate the
Organizers about their arrival/departure programmes well in
advance.

A good quality registration kit will contain publications,
memento, pen, pad etc. and coupons for local hospitality.
Financial Support: Participants are requested to arrange their
sponsorship from their host institutes. The Organizers take no
responsibility of their payment of TA and accommodation. In
exceptional cases, if funds are provided by agencies, the
Organizers may consider request for financial support or
waiver of registration fee on merit of the case.
Local Hospitality: This will include lunch/dinner/tea &
snacks both veg & non-veg meals (No pork & beef) etc.
Bank Facility: There is a State Bank of India branch at Central
Avian Research Institute Branch, CARI Izatnagar .
Post Office: There is also a post office located at CARI,
Izatnagar, within campus of IVRI.
Medical Aid: There is a full fledged medical hospital inside REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
the IVRI Campus.
Excursion Tour: Participants may go for excursion visits to
Mukteswar, Nainital, Ranikhet, Mathura, Agra, Lucknow, I confirm to participate in
Varanasi, Haridwar. The Organizers may help delegates. 1) Indian veterinary Congress
Telecommunication Facility: PCO's and reprographic shops 2) National Symposium
are available just outside gate of IVRI for personal use. There is To be held from 6-7 April 2017 at IVRI, Izatnagar.
