AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 5.

12 OF THE
OAKLAND MUNICIPAL CODE, PERTAINING TO CABARET
PERMITS, TO ALLOW FOR ANNUAL CABARET LICENSE

WHEREAS, persons, partnerships, and corporations currently operate cabarets at various

sites within the City of Oakland; and

WHEREAS,the Oakland Municipal Code currently contains permit requirements for

cabarets at Title 5, Chapter 5.
12 which requires permittees to pay a license fee of 75.

quarter in advance; and

WHEREAS, a substantial number of cabaret permittees fail to pay the $

75.00 license fee
in a timely manner, and a substantial number of cabaret owners and the Business Tax Office of the
City of Oakland request a change in the current process to allow annual payment of such fees;
now

THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND DOES ORDAIN AS

FOLLOWS:

Section 1: Title 5, Chapter 5.

12 of the Oakland Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:

Every person conducting, managingmaintaining the business of a cabaret in the city
