DIY For Church Have you ever wondered how to get more involved in your church?
Wondered about Bible studies or how to help during worship? Weve got answers for you!
Meet in the sanctuary between services on Sundays, February 26 or March 5 and we can help
with all your questions. Some of the areas we will address are: Altar Guild, bread bakers,
powerpoint, music, communion assistants, coffee servers, etc. Bring your questions and see
you then!
Calling all cooks! The soup ministry at St. John's is back! The E-team is collecting
names of volunteers to call on to provide soup when we are aware of someone going
through a challenging time such as surgery or illness. Arrangements will be made to
schedule the soup with the recipient and the cook. If you can help or if you know
someone in need, sign up on the registration sheet in the bulletin or contact the
church office.

PERSONAL CARE KITS
February & March is time for Personal Care
Kits for Lutheran World Relief. These kits
are often given to those who have lost
everything in the wake of an earthquake or
having fled from violence as their homes
were overtaken. The very simple gesture of
giving a Personal Care Kit can give someone
the encouragement to start anew
beginning with a bath. You can share Gods
grace and love by providing that simple
comfort.
Each kit should include:
One bath-size towel
Two or three bars of soap
One adult-size toothbrush
One sturdy comb
One metal nail clippers
Please do not donate items with religious
symbols, messages, or a group name. Also,
no items decorated with the US flag,
patriotic or military symbols, including
camo. All items should be new.
Watch for the washtub in the west hallway
to drop off kits.
We are in need of decaf coffee. If
you would be willing to donate
coffee to St. Johns, please bring it
to the office during the week or
leave it in the Fellowship Hall
kitchen any time. Thank you for
your donations!
Parish Fellowship Events!
Dont miss out, mark your calendars today!
Feb. 23rd: Free babysitting!! Drop your
newborn through 6th grader off at the Fellowship
Hall between 5-5:30 and go have an evening out
on us! Your child will be provided supper and fun
activities with adult supervision. Pick your child
back up by 8.
March 14th: St. Johns at the movies The
Shack- Norfolk 7 Theatre (time to be
announced)
March 19th: 5-7 p.m. Bowling at Kings lanes.
$2 games with free shoe rental. Pizza provided
by the Fellowship team. All ages welcome! Sign
up on the registration slip in the bulletin.
April 5th: 6 p.m. Seder Meal in the Fellowship
Hall. Lenten worship to follow @ 6:30 p.m.
April 25th: 6-7:30 p.m. Come pack Mercy Meals
at their location on 7th & Madison. Sign up on the
registration slip in the bulletin.
