Correction: In the January 2017 issue of Anglican Life, the centre two pages were given to
coverage of the visit of Bishop Francis Loyo. The subtitle of the article may have unintentionally
given the wrong impression to readers: Bishop Francis visited many places in the Diocese of
Central Newfoundland, and not just Bonavista. The article was submitted from the parish of
Boavista, hence my misleading subtitle. My apologies for any confusion or hurt feelings that
this may have caused.

Grand Falls-Windsor Makes Quilts

For Refugee Family
Photographs and article by
Dale Butler

On November 30th, the Holy Trinity ACW of GrandFalls-Windsor hosted a

pot luck supper to welcome a refugee family in our community. Members of our
congregation knitted 8-inch squares which were joined together to make two
warm blankets for the children, Fehed and Meryen. Mrs. Eileen Colbourne, past
president of our ACW diocesan council, made a lovely quilt which was presented
to the parents, Emin and Ruveyda .This evening of fellowship was enjoyed by all.

Today, January 29th, as
the congregation, both young

gladdened to be introduced to,
andbe a part of this Christingle

Gods gift of Jesus to us, as
the Light of the World. And as
an aftermath to the winding

roll in the production of this
event as readers, side persons,

At the foot of the Altar,
with the attending children of
the parish, Revd Jolene used
the analogy of an orange as a
motif to demonstrate the Best

Each child displayed an
orange, which represented the
concept of a circleround like

A candle protruding from
the top represented Gods
