ABOUT DTU The erstwhile DCE functioned from its historic

Kashmere Gate Campus for almost 55 years and has
shifted in 1996 to its new campus of 164 Acres at
Bawana Road, adjoining Sector-17, Rohini, Delhi-42.
 SAE BAJA is an intercollegiate engineering
design competition run by the Society of
Automotive Engineers (SAE). The competition
is for undergraduate and graduate
engineering students.
The object of the competition is to provide
ABOUT SAE BAJA SAE student members with a challenging
project that involves the design, planning and
manufacturing tasks found when introducing
a new product to the consumer industrial
market. Teams compete against one another
to have their design accepted for manufacture
by a fictitious firm. Students must function as
a team to not only design, build, test,
promote, and race a vehicle within the limits
of the rules, but also to generate financial
support for their project and manage their
educational priorities.

Endurance Race
Each competition finishes with an
intense four-hour race that puts the
most strain on the car, driver, and
team. The endurance race tests all
aspects of the car, as well as the
drivers ability to stay focused and
teams ability to communicate
efficiently and swiftly during pit stops.
BSI 2016 gave our team a great
challenge with a large break down
during the endurance. Yet, our team
proved successful in quick thinking
and was able to make repairs and get
our car back out on track through
teamwork and exceptional problem
solving skills.
SAE BAJA EVENTS
Dynamic Events
A variety of events constitute
the dynamic events,
including: Acceleration,
Manoeuvrability, Hill Climb,
Rock Crawl, and Weight Pull.
These events test individual
components of the cars
design to their limits.
Static Events
Static events are comprised of design
evaluations, a cost report, and sales
presentation. The team must
effectively present their vehicle to
expert judges and demonstrate
knowledge of every vehicle system,
showing not only an understanding of
the car, but also the ability to make
decisions during the design process to
come up with their final product. Our
team consistently places top-twenty in
cost effectiveness, showing our teams
ability to budget wisely and make
decisions allowing us to build a
prototype car that could ideally be
sold to the public at a reasonable
price.

 Why do we need you?
By their nature, motorsports programs of any level are inherently
expensive to operate and compete. For that reason, teams in all racing
leagues, including Baja SAE, rely heavily on businesses and corporations
to provide the necessary monetary, service and product support.
The team members juggle the responsibilities of participating in a year
long engineering, fabrication and testing process all while attending
classes at DTU. Our operational costs are in excess of 9 lakh a year which
we are tasked with sourcing ourselves.
The team will graciously accept a donation of any form: cash, materials or
machining time. Industrial support helps us perform better against our
international counterparts, who enjoy a lot of it.
 Why should you get involved?
Sponsorship helps our team tremendously, the benefits are mutual. First and foremost, any
monetary donation to our team, which is part of a state funded university, is tax deductible.
