ACTION PLAN

To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following Professional Competencies developed
during this field experience:
Competency 1, Competency 2, Competency 4, Competency 6, Competency 9, Competency 10,
Competency 11, and Competency 12, through transforming the classroom into a cultural base open
to a range of different viewpoints within a common space, adopting a critical approach to the
subject matter, communicating clearly at all times, supporting student learning by asking questions
and providing feedback, communicating clear requirements regarding appropriate school and social
behaviour, collaborating with other members of the school staff, taking stock of my competencies
and taking steps to develop them using available resources, and demonstrating ethical and
responsible professional behaviour in the performance of my duties.

I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience:
Competency 1, Competency 4, Competency 6, Competency 9, Competency 10, and Competency
11, through casting a critical look at my own origins, cultural practices, and social role, providing
students with the resources they need to take part in learning situations, developing startegies for
preventing inappropriate behaviour and dealing with it effectively when it occurs, informing parents
and encouraging them to be actively involved, developing and organizing projects appropriate to
the objectives to be attained by the teaching team, and discussing the relevance of my pedagogical
choices with my colleagues.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:

- Taking individual control of the planning and execution of lessons.
- Learn more about the students' personal backgrounds.
- Know the subject-specific knowledge that the students must be taught by the end of the year.
- Provide more concrete feedback to the students about their work.
- Utilize mutual respect with the students to establish more authority in the classroom.
- Develop and maintain classroom routines.
- Develop a relationship with the students' parents.
