was called Carageas plague`. The legend claims that more mass graves were dug
where were thrown the bodies of the plague infected people, then plugged and
covered in chalk. When it was raining white puddles where formed, fact that
determined the name of the district.

The most known legend of Bucharest is the one of Vlad the Impaler.

Urban legends:

One of the legends involves the Eternity` cemetery in Bucharest. There is

said to be buried a woman that killed herself because her lover left her. The
funerary stone has the shape of an woman that has her hands on her knees
and seems like she invites you to take a sit. There were rumors that if you sit
during the night on that statue you will day. More people tried to see if this is
true but nothing happened till the last man who tried was found dead the
next morning.
Somewhere near Manucs Inn was a pastry shop where the most famous pie
was the one that had human meat stuffing. It is said that the supply was
made by a secret trap in the restroom.
A similar legend is talking about Budapest Restaurant which is said to serve
food containing human organs.
The haunted busses
The first one is an old bus that circulates in the area of Universitate Square at
around 2 am, usually with the lights off and completely empty.
The other one is the story of bus 75. A young woman which was waiting the
bus 85 to go to Northern Railway Station, which never showed, took the bus
75 on which front window was writing the route Rosetti Square Northern
Railway Station`. The bus was empty and the driver couldnt be seen, there
was a horrible smell inside it. So she got down at the first stop and decided to
take a taxi, but another 75 bus showed and this one seemed newer and
cleaner so she took that one. The driver couldnt be seen as well and the bus
went directly to the last stop where the other 75 bus was. The woman left
and then the bus drivers appeared and started talking to each other. After
some time the woman verified the lists of the busses and there was no bus
75.
