 Chapter I

Introduction
1.1. Background
The research was carried out based on the following considerations:
1. Toba Dream is a novel and was appointed as a movie.
2. Analyzing Moral Value can help to know which type of
characterization that are widely used in order to increase
knowledge.

1.2. The problem of the study

Problems that the writer would like to analyze are:
1. What are the moral values found in Tobanese Traditional
Storytelling (Turiturian) Hariara na Marparbue
2. How Tobanese Traditional Storytelling (Turiturian) Hariara na
Marparbue can inspire and influence people?

1.3. The Objective of the study

1. To know the moral values that found in Tobanese Traditional
Storytelling (Turiturian) Hariara na Marparbue.
2. To know how Tobanese Traditional Storytelling (Turiturian)
Hariara na Marparbue can inspire and influence people.

1.4. The scope of the study

To limit the analysis, the writer selected three story from Torsatorsa
Hombing Compiled by Manguji Nababan namely : Hau Joring Parira
na Rintop, Ulok Dohot Jolma, Hariara na Marparbue.

1.5. The significances of the study

The writer would like to underline some significances of this study. The
significances are :
1. To encaurage the students to study more about literature
2. To give more understanding about moral values found in
literary works especially .
3. To understand explicit and implicit massage about moral value
that found in storytelling
4. To the English Departement students to improve their knowledge
on literature.
5. To the English teacher to enrich their knowledge on literature.
6. To provide a model for those who are doing literary study

Review of Literature
It will discuss the theory of study, characterization, the main
characters/character, novel and analytical approach.

Chapter III

Research Methodology
It will discuss about research design, object of the study, instrument, data
source, data collection, data analysis.

Chapter IV

Literary Analysis
It will discuss the writers presentation of a study of the characterization of
the main characters in the novel.

Chapter V

Conclusion and Suggestion

This chapter will discuss the writers conclusion of own study suggestion.
