As stated in the 2017 Lenten Schedule Letter (a separate congregational mailing), no

Confirmation Families are highly encouraged to attend all midweek Lenten and Holy
Week Worship & MEALWORSHIP Services.

We look forward to seeing the St. Johns Confirmation Families come together and
make the March 15 MEALWORSHIP experience a success.

If you have any questions about what is being asked of you, please contact Pr. Justin at
the church office at 402-371-1985.

Group Expectations & Family Confirmation Requirement Plans

! Confirmation students are expected to attend all class sessions as assigned by
grade. If a student misses a class, parents and students are expected to let the church
office know, and review the video, materials, and information missed during class when
available. If students are ill and contagious, please keep them at home, and please
contact Pastor Justin or office staff ahead of time at 402-371-1985, and provide a
doctors note by the next class time.
! Confirmation students and parents are expected to be in worship more often than
they are not in worship. The promises of baptism in the LBW include faithfully bring[ing]
[your child] to the services of God's house. While no requirement can enforce this, we
want to see you in worship as a family. Whether you come Saturday nights at 5 p.m.,
Sunday mornings at 8:30 or 11am, gathering around Gods Word & Meal is important in
the life of faith.

Prs. David and Justin have selected the Nebraska Synods suggested midweek Lenten
practice of a combined meal/worship time that explores the theme We are Church. We
believe this suggested MEALWORSHIP experience will be positive and enjoyable as we
discuss what it is to be the church in the world. Combining meal & worship time should
condense the amount of time spent at St. Johns on Wednesdays. Faith formation starts
at home, and your expected attendance at these MEALWORSHIP Lenten midweek
experiences as a family will not only stir your familys faith formation, but will also
enhance the experience for our faith family at St. Johns. We thank your family for taking
every step possible in making Lent at St. Johns a priority in your household.
