DEPARTMENT
Hi,
Welcome to transition training.
To help the transition we have put together a starter pack
Essentially a training guide and some extracts relevant to training.
The memory tool is essentially to be used for scan practice in the briefing
room
to help hand eye coordination i.e. where to look, what switches to move
or what lights / configuration to observe and help memorize the flow.
Works well if practiced as a team. One reads while the other performs the
PF scan and PM scan.
This helps to enrich the time spent in the FTD / SIM
We tried it a few times for a couple of days before the first FTD and it
helped a lot. Typically takes 4 to 5 practice runs to be able to perform all
the scans from memory subsequently one practice in the briefing room
before each session helps.
The content is limited to the action lines of the procedures.
As this is only a training aid please refer to official documents for all
correct application of procedures.

The Radio Altimeter (RA) shall be used for all call-outs, when
conducting approaches in Low Visibility.
In addition to the normal descent and arrival briefing, the PF/PM should complete the following RNP APCH
operations checklist review.
Note 1: All the above terms are collectively known as RNP APCH in ICAO terminology.
Note 2: SilkAir is not authorized to conduct RNP AR (Authorization Required).
Note 3: SilkAir is approved to conduct RNP APCH with APV BaroVNAV down to LNAV / VNAV minima.
11. For missed approach procedures based on conventional aids (VOR, NDB) ensure that the
appropriate ground aids required are operational and tuned.
*Note: For approaches down to LNAV minima, set published MDA + 50ft. For approaches down to
LNAV / VNAV minima, set published DA.

The objective of the initial line check conducted in a simulator is for trainees to operate a line
sector in as realistic an environment as possible. Trainees are to handle a variety of structured
real time scenarios, which include routine, abnormal and emergency situations.
1. Fuel planning
2. Go around.
3. diversion
The NTC elements as well as Handling skills will be checked in this session.
Time compress is allowed at the discretion of the Instructor as it would not have any bearing on
the exercise, to enable more efficient use of simulator time. On successful completion the Initial
Line Check Form must be completed.
