I. Introduction
Nowadays, technology has been advanced and it is useful in our daily life. As we
have known, a communication has been developed day by day, from sending letters
to connecting each other by using phone. There are many types of phone, but a
mobile phone is recently famous connecting device where people can bring along
with them anywhere they go. To connect to another people, the mobile phone need
a wireless service where there are several companies are providing the service and
people have to pay to the companies in order to be able to connect to the World.

II. Objectives
According to this, it leads us want to know about a relation between the quality of
the service and payments customers. We doubt that how much do the customers
need to pay to the companies every month and whether it is a must that they have
to pay following to the services fee. Moreover, we also doubt that in which, does
the monthly expense depend on, between the mobile phone companys service fee
and an individual need.

To clarify the doubt, we have made a survey to study about this problem. We have
surveyed 100 random Cambodian people in order to know about which mobile phone
companies services that they are using and how much that they have to pay to
refill their balance represent by buying scratch cards from those companies.

Below here, there are a data, a calculation and an analysis to find out the answer.

III. Data
After we have done a survey, we have got data as shown in the table below:

M obile P hone C om panies Service s

Cellcard Smart Axiata Metfone
Type of Scratch 1$ 13 15 10
C ards 2$ 8 10 7
5$ 11 7 7
(Paym ents) 10$ 6 4 2

IV. Calculation
In order to find out the answer, we have to do a calculation on the data and then
we analyze the answer after the calculation. We divide a calculation to be 2 parts,
where we calculate using theoretical methods of Statistics and another part we will
use computers program such as Microsoft Excel to verify our calculations answer
to ensure that every data has been calculated correctly. Suppose that:

Factor A is the payments represents by different types of scratch cards.

Factor B is the mobile phone companies in Cambodia.

(Figure 1: Verified Result from Data Analysis of Microsoft Excel)

The calculation using Microsoft Excel has used a Data Analysis add-ins to calculate
the answer by input the data from the table above. Choosing Anova: Two- factor
without Replication the answers are automatically calculated and show the result
such as Sum, Average, Variance, Sum of Squares, Mean Squares, Test Statistical
Value, and P-Value, etc., as we can see in the figure 1 above.

After both different calculation, we get the similar answer with a little amount of
error of calculation. Thus, we assume that all data has been calculated correctly.

V. Analysis
After the calculation, we will analyze the result whether it is in a rejection region
or not. For the whole test, we would like to make a 95% confident interval, which
means we will use a significance level = 0.05.

A. Testing for a factor A Paym ents:

Let 0 is the statement that the monthly expend does not depend on the individual
need.

Let is the statement that the monthly expend depends on the individual need.

Thus, 0 : = 0 vs : at least one 0

under 0 : = (( 1), ( 1)( 1))

Rejection Region: = { | ,1,(1)(1) }

where = 0.05, = 4, = 3

then, ,1,(1)(1) = 0.05,3,6

according to the appendix tables, 0.05,3,6 = 4.76

Rejection Region: = { | 0.05,3,6 = 4.76}

but, = 14.6959 > 4.76

Thus, 0 is rejected

Note: 0 is rejected means that the statement that the monthly expend does not
depend on the individual need is not true. Therefore, the monthly expend does
depend on the individual need.

B. Testing for a factor B Services:

Let 0 is the statement that the monthly expend does not depend on the
companies services fees.

Let is the statement that the monthly expend does depend on the companies
services fees.

Thus, 0 : = 0 vs : at least one 0

Page | 6
Institute of Technology of Cambodia I3 GEE B1 Group5
under 0 : = (( 1), ( 1)( 1))

Rejection Region: = { | ,1,(1)(1) }

where = 0.05, = 4, = 3

then, ,1,(1)(1) = 0.05,2,6

according to the appendix tables, 0.05,2,6 = 5.14

Rejection Region: = { | 0.05,2,6 = 5.14}

but, = 4.0435 < 5.14

Thus, 0 is not rejected

Note: 0 is rejected means that the statement that the monthly expend does not
depend on the companies services fees is true. Therefore, the monthly expend does
not depend on the companies services fees.

VI. Conclusion
From a survey to an analysis data, we now find out the answer. Then, we assume
that the monthly expense on mobile phones services does not depend on the
companies services fees, but it definitely depends on an individual need which
means that if some individual uses much on mobile phones services such as calling,
streaming video, or using internet, the expense will be consumed along with how
much data has been used.

We strongly recommend that with no matter which mobile phone companies

services you are using, the more you spend time with your phone, the much money
you will have to spend.

Last but not least, this is just our very first research as we have been assigned to
find an information and to study about it in order to set the hypotheses, analyze
and conclude the result, since we have finished our course on Statistics for
Engineering. Finally, we would like to acknowledge to our lecturer Mr. PHOK Ponna
who has instructed us for a whole semester and we gain our knowledge in Statistics
in order to apply to our career and our daily life in the future.
