1.0 Visual, UTTG, MPI and Hardness Testing on removal JIG.


All welded attachments for pipe jointings and aligning was removed and the
tack weld shall be chipping /grinding smooth and testing by MPI, UTTG and
Hardness.
Visual inspection has been performed for removing the attachment and ensure
that no defect.
MPI has been performed to detect surface discontinuities that may be present
in the examined.
UTTG to perform thickness measurement (using UT thickness gauge) on the
expected highest reduced thickness base on visual inspection. The thickness
value was found comply with pipe material specification tolerance.
Hardness has been performed on the grinding area after jig removal
attachment to measure the hardness of the material on the area examined.
All temporary attachments required welding to the pipe surface was ensured
of the same grade of material as of the pipes.
Report of MPI, UTTG and Hardness testing have been recorded and attached
together with fit-up check QCF form.
1.2 Tack Weld of Pipes Together
After the pipes are aligned, tack welds are made from the root of the weld. The
tack welds will remain as part of the root bead and they must be strong and
clean throughout and should also penetrate to the root from the start to finish
