Abstract

Ordering system enables customers of fast food restaurant to place their order online at

any time and any place. The reason to develop the system is due to the issues facing by the fast

food restaurant industry. These issues are such as peak hour-long queue issues, increase of take

away foods than visitors, speed major requisite of fast food preparation, limited promotion and

advertising on current strategy, and quality control of fast food management issues. Re Cafe is a

place to relax, reconnect, and reminisce with handmade burgers, s'mores, and milkshakes. This

system enhances the speed and standardization of taking the order from the customer and

displays it to the staff in the kitchen accordingly. At the same time boost up market share for fast

food restaurant and increase return on investment for the investor. A very effective way in

gathering necessary data is through survey method. Through survey questionnaires the research

has purposively selected 30 respondents from the customers of Re Cafe.

INTRODUCTION

Statement of the Problem

Based on the study conducted, this aims to give an accurate ordering service for the entity

to organize the flow of their products. Specifically, it sought answers to the following questions:

1. How can the problems encountered by manual ordering of goods in the entity be

addressed in terms of the following:

a. Hassle

b. Time Spent

General Problem:

The main problem of this study is the manual ordering of the product flows through buying

transactionsof customers within the entity.

Specific problems include:

1. Manual ordering is time consuming

2. Manual ordering is too hassle

3. Possible loss of records of printed receipts from transactions

4. Security of ordering flows is low.

Objective of the Study

This study intends to develop a ordering system which would be of great help to the entitys

operations.

General Objectives

This study aims to aid the problems encountered by the manual ordering system of RE

CAF with the implementation of a computerized and online orderingsystem.

Specific Objectives

1. To increase the security in the flow of orders in and out of the entity.

2. To lessen time consumed by the management in controlling ordering flow.

3. To minimize hassles.

4. To create a backup of files in every buy or sell transaction through database.

An Online Marketing is both creative and technical advantageous aspects in the world of

internet, including the design, advertising, sales and development. It is now being used by many

companies, including those companies which competing in the world of business. Internet

Marketing makes a big contribution in terms of advertising and producing more sales. Providing

services and promoting products are one of the main goals of internet marketing. As the

technology keep changing and many companies are still adapting techniques to produce much

revenue, Internet marketing technologies can broaden the scope of business both on local and

global competencies (Anonymous, 2013).

On the other hand, food served in fast food restaurants is offered and cooked in bulk in

advance and kept hot, is finished and packaged for order and is usuallyavailable ready for pickup

or to be delivered though seating may also be provided. The customers presently spend an

average of 60 minutes per day going to the restaurant, selecting their meals and paying.

Some restaurants have the provision of customers making a call to the restaurant in advance to

order a meal to be ready for them for pick or to be delivered to them. Some of the customers

dont always get the selection they want because the restaurants run out of certain items or

because there is no provision of ordering custom meals (Wafula, n.d).

In connection with, ordering system enables customers of fast food restaurant to place

their order online at any time and any place. The reason to develop the system is due to the issues

facing by the fast food restaurant industry. These issues are such as peak hour-long queue issues,

issues. Therefore, this system enhances the speed and standardization of taking the order from

the customer and displays it to the staff in the kitchen accordingly. At the same time boost up

market share for fast food restaurant and increase return on investment for the investor (Gan,

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the environment, respondents, research instrument, data gathering

procedure, and treatment of data.

Environment

The study focuses on Re Caf located at the Circumferential Road, P7 Bitoon Ozamiz

City. Customers are mostly coming from Misamis Occidental and other tourists from other

Provinces. The average total number of customers in a day for Re Caf around 60.

Respondents

The respondents in this study will be the customers of the shop. The proponents use

convenient sampling in getting the number of respondents from the total average of Re Caf

Shop. From the 60 average numbers of customers of Re Caf, 5% will be selected as

respondents.

The table below shows the average population of customers in a day of the Re Caf Shop.

Customer Average Number of Customers Number of Respondents

Re Caf Shop 60 per day 30

TOTAL 30

Table1. Average Population and Number of Respondents

Research Instrument

While waiting for the orders of the customers inside the Re Caf Shop, this would give

the researchers time to conduct the research. A very effective way in gathering necessary data is

through survey method. This method was used by the researchers in requirement and analysis;

the proponents employed descriptive type of questionnaires (see Appendix C) which were

distributed to the respondents. The instrument used type of questions that are answerable by

EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR, POOR, to determine what type of problems are encountered by

customers and what type of features are needed for the shop.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will undergo data gathering from the customers of Re Caf Shop to

examine their experiences, problems and opinions in order to identify the efficient and effective

ways of the research study. Researchers sent letter to the Re Caf Shop of Ozamiz City asking

permission to conduct the research study. After their approval, the researchers randomly

distributed the questionnaires to the customers. The researchers provided directions and guided

the customers so they will fully understand each question.

Treatment of Data

When the survey was finished, the researchers tabulated and documented the survey.

After gathering the important data, the proponents analyzed, studied, and validated the data

carefully.
The following treatment was used for the data gathered for the presentation of the result. The

questions were answerable by EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR, POOR, and percentage were

computed as shown below.

1. Frequency/Count the response per item in the questionnaire were counted and presented

as frequency.

2. Percentage

PERCENTAGE (%) = f/N x 100

RE CAF ORDERING SYSTEM

System Overview

Re Caf ordering system uses manual ordering system based on paper ordering and

calculator for calculations and most of the customers dont want to wait for their orders in a long

line just to buy foods.

We have come up with a study to make Computerized Ordering System for any

customers who will buy foods to Re Caf, Ozamiz City. This system is the substitute of the

traditional ordering system (based on paper tickets). Customers can access the system by or

through logging in. It needs the username and password of the customers based on his/her

registration form to access the logging form and continue to the main form, which is the menu.

This system has the ability to log the time and date when the customer enters the store. The

proposed system will use a "closed loop" where authorized operator or the management is the

only one who can issue or access the customers information and can print receipts through

customers orders.

System Objectives

General Objectives

This study aims to aid the problems encountered by the manual ordering system of RE CAF

with the implementation of a computerized and online ordering system.

Specific Objectives

1. To increase the security in the flow of orders in and out of the entity.

2. To lessen time consumed by the management in controlling ordering flow.

3. To minimize hassles.

4. To create a backup of files in every buy or sell transaction through database.

System Scope and limitation

The study focuses on the Ordering System used in paying the orders at Re Caf, Ozamiz

City. The scopes of the study are the customers from the Re Caf only and the management who

facilitates and secures the information and orders of the customers. The project system will focus

on the customers order whether he or she chooses dine or take out. The ordering system can

only be used by the customers and the management of the Re Caf.
